Flashback to Steve Jobs' famous "Thoughts on Flash" https://newslang.ch/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Thoughts-on-F... It was not well received at the time. Oh how things have changed.

Immediately made me think of Steve Jobs and this great clip: "Computers are like a bicycle for our minds." https://youtu.be/ob_GX50Za6c

Alright, I still can't find any button though. By the way, newsletter notifications were automatically checked, I think most users would prefer to have it disabled by default.

If you add stocks to your watchlist it will populate the empty whitespace with a table containing Watchlist Movers.

I like this, is your quote data live or delayed? Sparklines in your watchlist would be most welcome, plus better charts in general; candlesticks, range % between two points etc.

Author says: "You may like the Mac Mini if: You require the OSX environment for your work (I don’t)" Author should have started the rant with that.

Hehe, yeah. I saw Stallman in Gothenburg 2007 and even bought his book Free Software, Free Society. It was memorable, getting flashbacks now from him eating toe jam/callous skin from his foot.

To answer your questions, nothing and it doesn't. The laughter and clapping just reads as puerile to me. On a tangent I'm very fond on GNU/Linux, I run a Debian homelab plus some Pi 4s. I also use Macs since 2006.

I'm referring to the audience laughing and then clapping when he mentions he's depressed about Apple.

Well good for him. But we have to let go of this notion that for GNU/Linux to win, Apple has to lose. I'm paraphrasing but can't shake that feeling when I hear those claps in the video. When are we ever going to grow up?

This is great. Safari has settings for this but plenty of sites (e.g. yahoo) punch through them anyway. The web has become so incredibly user-hostile in the last decade.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) closed 465 failed banks from 2008 to 2012. In contrast, in the five years prior to 2008, only 10 banks failed. Things could get much worse.

RSS is only dead to those who don't know how to use it or lack imagination, what a weird thing to say really. Personally I've been using it for a myriad of things ever since 2007, just recently I discovered you can add .atom to Gi

I like it, let capitalism work as intended by culling out the weak. They should have done the same with GM and Chrysler instead of bailing them out, we'd have a faster transition to electric today.

Not an equalizer but Reduce Bass setting does exactly this. I actually have it on at all times because it makes the HomePod sound more flat, the default has too much bass for my taste.
