FWIW, I recently tried WINE/Codeweavers again after hearing everyone rave that it ran practically everything, and it was an absolute disaster. Literally 5/6 of the applications I tried didn’t run (and the sixth was Telegram, which

Disagree on Goodfellow, personally I found it the most approachable introduction to neural networks & backprop. To be fair, I think this must have been the pre-GAN edition so maybe it's changed a bit since then. ESL is a fantastic

This was a default judgment, meaning the defendant never even turned up to court and so the plaintiff won “by default”. Most likely the guy has skipped the country, so you’re right, probably a paper victory.

I’ve said this a number of times before, but I still can’t see why loans > $1m against share-based collateral shouldn’t be taxed as income.

I can't stand Objective-C, but I'm pretty apathetic towards Swift. As far as I can see, Swift simply swapped Obj-C's terrible syntax for its own, equally terrible syntax. I probably would have been more enthusiastic about &qu

Coincidentally, I've been digging deep into Filament over the past couple of weeks as a replacement for Unity (I just need 3D rendering without all the doo-dads that come with a full game engine). I'm guessing from the submitter&#

I don't know where this absurd idea came from that "China invading Taiwan" means "Australia/Japan would be next!". As far as the PRC is concerned, Taiwan is a part of China. They wouldn't be invading anoth

I’ll be interested to see how many people are actually using Codex in 12 months time. I honestly don’t know if it’s a shiny new toy that people will get bored with, or a genuinely useful tool that will become part of your average developers
