"In the wee hours of April 4, they were purportedly driving together through downtown San Francisco in a car registered to the suspect." This is from "multiple police sources" from the article.

OG leaf battery design was legitimately flawed. I had one for a while and watched the range drop from 50-40 “miles” (half that really) over less than 10k miles of usage before I sold it.

Table stakes is a poker term meaning you can’t even play the game without it. There’s no dichotomy here. I’d go further and say that in big tech, well factored well tested code is table stakes and the ability to produce it quickly is assume

I briefly worked with a software engineer who was making about a million dollars a year. I mentioned that an approach would be a lot of work. His response: “It’s just typing. Typey typey type (makes fingers on keyboard gesture).” Absolute l

I’ll say reading the books to my kids, I can see the desire for some edits to keep up with the times. I have to censor a lot with my kids. Same with calvin and Hobbes. It’s not that hard to make the edits yourself though and there is value

Echoing others, embrace it or move. I’m about a year and a half into working with 4 juniors at big tech, and I’m just amazed by how capable they are now. The first 3-6 months were slow, but now I am struggling to find things to do!

Don’t know where to put this, but utility rates in northern California have gotten to the point where it’s cheaper to drive my prius than my EV from a fuel standpoint, and that’s using the special off peak EV rate. If you have net metering

I meant talk therapy. Therapy is tough because a good therapist is probably very expensive, and might be a major expense for someone. Cheaper options would be trauma or addiction groups if those fit. A lot of people have just horrible “trut

It is general advice. Even if you're taking it slowly, you need to somehow let the person you are interested in know that they will enjoy hooking up with you someday, or they won't stick around to wait for you. Edit: I still need

Correct. If I had a cure I might still be doing it. Like I said, some people are broken. What I've described is more fundamental. It probably will be of more assistance to people doing okay with some hangups than people whose self este

Groups could be drinking at someone's house. They're paying money and arranging transportation to be doing their group drinking in public. It's rude not to engage with them.

In a past life I got pretty deep into trying to help guys like this. There's a whole industry around it peddling advice that ranges from effective (yet impossible to implement for a broken person) to counter-productive and evil. It&#x2

This makes much more sense with large lifepo4 chemistry batteries that are expected to outlive the car by a wide margin. Lifepo4 batteries > 50kwh should easily handle 500,000 miles. Higher performance lithium ion will degrade at a rate

TypeScript can type based on object literals, so while you can't type JSON on the fly, you can type a JSON file automatically. With code gen you can usually just print out your JSON directly from the source and import that as a type in
