Lots of information out there. I feel as though my mother who I love dearly might be starting to experience the first stages of alzheimers. She's healthy, but otherwise not doing anything to take care of the condition. Given the curren

I've generally found Michael Pollan's advice to be a good rule of thumb: eat food, not too much, mostly plants. Assuming anything more narrow runs the risk of being speculation.

I'm itching to make this. Would this be a good intro ML project for a solid software engineer (with a decently strong math background) or would it likely be far over my head? Seems like reverse engineering it from the paper would be to

I run a little design agency (www.beaver.digital) where I do all the design and coding. I didn't study design (or coding for that matter), but over the last year or two I went from novice to advanced pretty quick. I don't know wha

Yep. I slept 7-8 hours all my life, until sleep apnea started to rear it's ugly head last year. Now, I consistently sleep 10-11. It's the only way I've found to not feel miserable and fatigued all day.

Wow, it's literally in the most hard-to-find part of the devtools UI. No wonder I thought it didn't exist.

Oh my god, I've been waiting and looking for something like this for forever. It's a total pain in the arse to change dozens or hundreds of styles on a page in devtools and have to keep a mental model of what's been changed t

Well, that's a shame. I hate eating in the morning, and love eating in the evening. I find it surprising that earlier humans in history didn't follow this pattern, allowing the body to adapt to digesting food later at night.

Anyone have thoughts on how the public will feel about this kind of tech being applied to the streets of the U.S.? We seem to be so libertarian, yet it seems like other countries (and even law enforcement currently in the US) have been impl

I'd second other commenters in that you should get your sleep checked out. I had unchecked sleep apnea for about a year and wasn't able to learn or remember anything during that period. Sleep apnea is very subtle, some people go u

Debatable, but I've hired a few people and do next to nothing—maybe an hour or two a week. Plus, aren't all profitable side projects technically 'businesses'?

Got lucky with a Kickstarter project that has evolved into a business which finances my life/interest in programming+design. It was definitely the most lucky thing to happen to me in my entire life.

Heh, I don't know how I feel about this, at least for people who are highly talented. Intelligent hard working people at this day in age often choose practical career paths that they like, which lead to ample job opportunity.

From a development perspective, in my humble opinion the single biggest hurdle with developing SPAs vs traditional server side applications are problems dealing with state consistency. The state model in non-spa apps is simple: when a pagel
