You could access a snapshot of the page that was taken when google was indexing it. It is helpful if the site content changed or was removed shortly after google indexed it. This often lead to wrong search result preview texts which you cou

I own the npm package node-ts, which has thousands of installs per week just because people confuse it with ts-node. I didn't intend to typo-squat. Actually, my package is older than ts-node and was just a pun because it is an API for

Sadly, SharedWorkers still are not supported on Chrome+Android. Hope that changes soon because it would be a game-changer for many applications to have this API broadly available.

Have there been systems which support other additional streams? When using PowerShell, I find it useful that it handled progress separately, so it doesn't interfere with piping (putting aside that cmdlets are .NET-based objects anyway)

It seems that you have to maintain hand-coded mappings for each type. Maybe this could be solved by using C++23's compile-time reflections.

Could this be leveraged to emit a parser that is specialized for the provided type that can be used at runtime? Afaik .NET does something like that using code generators. The advantage being that the parser is tailored to the specific type

I took the idea of interval types and decomposed them to an even lower primitive: Inequality types. An interval type is just an intersection of two inequality types. For example `(>0) & (<1)` is the interval `(0, 1)`. You can read

The vite authors are working on a roll up rewrite in rust to solve this. So instead of using farm, I'd just wait.

The good thing with the time of ICQ was that it was common that 3rd party messengers implemented the protocol. I used QiP and Pidgin. With Pidgin, it was possible to have all chat history across different chat networks (MSN, ICQ, IRC, Jabbe

Are there some insights on why they chose the rather unusual stack of using rust and flutter for the new UI? To the outside observer, it seems like it's not a carefully taken business decision but some random engineer who wanted to lea

I built cybertoken [1] for API keys and passwords, not (only) IDs. It is basically the format that GitHub uses for their api keys. Underscores, a prefix, so we can get a better debugging experience and automated secret scanning. It also has

I'd like to have a way of disabling certain (legacy?) functionality. They even list some of it on their wiki [1]. Maybe we could even get speedups by not covering the legacy cases. A plan to phase out some of these legacy features woul

It does not do any type checking. You have to run tsc with noEmit separately. If you run `bun run foo.ts`, it just ignores all type annotations. It is transpiled to JS internally by removing the types (or it skips the types while parsing).

We could drastically simplify the building and deployment process of our services. By far the greatest advantage is that it runs TS natively. Dropping the compilation stage simplifies everything. From docker imaging to writing DB migrations

Back in the days there was an effort to put observables in the language because they were popular (and rxjs was, too). Glad that didn't happen. And I think everybody else is, too. Maybe we should keep that in mind when standardizing fe

I'd love PHP to have proper primitives for working with binary data / buffers. You still have to use strings for that. Those strings are immutable, so performance will suffer. In JS, there are pretty decent APIs for that. Just cop
