That's amusing because I think almost everyone I know confuses it with 1440p. I've never heard of 2k being used for 1080p before.

The findings in the article basically came down to - people eat more calories when it tastes good. Even the article itself admits there are a multitude of other factors that could account for the results other than UPF.

I honestly think stress and work obsession along with sedentary lifestyles has a lot more to do with anything health related than ultra processed foods.

It's just as dumb though because the act of processing doesn't really mean anything.

Having a shifted mean doesn't mean they aren't a normal distribution. Not saying they are necessarily, but the anecdote you are providing isn't convincing.

It's the most common desktop OS. No one was confused by what the parent meant since Windows is not a mobile operating system and doesn't compete in that market.

I don't understand this because I have used Firefox exclusively since it first came out and never run into broken sites. What exactly are these exotic sites you are visiting that break in Firefox? You mentioned an elusive government

I think a public short message service like X / Bluesky / etc.. is the one area where I absolutely could care less if AI is trained on it lol.

I created a new account and the feed was flooded with anti-X, anti-gop, anti-religion content. Don't get me wrong, it's not that any of those particularly bother me but it doesn't seem any different than X except without the

I mean that is obvious right? It was self-promotion, one of the few things Trump is really good at. That doesn't mean it was in his economic agenda to pass trillions in debt funded covid relief or that he was even responsible for it.

Trump didn't print $4T, the bi-partisan effort in Congress for COVID relief did. I think the problem in voters eyes is that Biden did not stop after this. He pushed through multiple trillion dollar bills on top of it. I'm not say

The election was close. I don't believe this at all. It's simply being tone deaf. Not to mention the strong democrat support in the mid terms (when inflation was arguably worse).

Just supporting Linux would be adequate imho. Non-existent Linux support straight up makes M4 a non-starter for myself as much as I can admire the hardware.

There are plenty of thriving towns in America with 5k-10k people. I think you need to just get out more. I grew up in one and it was fine. I now live in a slightly larger city (in the low hundred thousands) and enjoy the low cost of livin

Readers here probably aren't hunter gatherers in Africa though. If you live sedentary lifestyle with an abundance of food you may need to take a different approach to nutrition. Sure it would be ideal if we were all hyper athletes, b

Humans don't need to compete with machines in the economic system. Machines aren't out to make a profit. Only humans are. The truth is if this technology really advances to the point we are talking about money won't really b

I find it very odd that the new iMac has WiFi 7 but this does not... Also it is so aggravating they compare to 3 generations ago and not the previous generation in the marketing stats. It makes the entire post nearly useless.

In my state electricity costs about $0.089/kWh. We spend about $100/mo on electricity total which comes out almost exactly to your 30kWh/day figure (with a $23.15 connection charge included). Invested that 40k would conserva

It was still a process. You had to have an established OSS project and go through the partnership process. Now you can just use it for free for any hobby/oss projects without all the red tape.

Agreed, although seeing as the economic plans laid out by both current presidential candidates would result in an increase in deficit the political will to do so does not seem to be there. In reality it feels like the spending is just bein

You are right, it's the terrible docker experience that really seals the deal. Or the fact that to run Linux you have to rely on a small group that is trying to will it into existence without any support from Apple.
