I know it's hard to believe that many people are simply happier living in their own single family home and have little desire for the urban lifestyle.

There are plenty of free markets with indirect forced participation. The freedom doesn't come from choice to participate but rather choice of who to engage with and competition.

Typically one would not do that. You'd shop around ahead of time, sign up for a plan and then if/when the emergency came it would already be taken care of.

Data as well. I have a 100TB NAS I can use for data storage and it was honesty pretty cheap overall.

I was a part of this project over a decade ago when I attended ERAU! At the time the goal was just to take pictures of earth. It is so cool to see how the scope has expanded over the years. Our student group drove down to Cape Canaveral t

That's fine as a personal anecdote, and to be honest you sound burned out. But making absolute statements like "it is not satisfying to the soul" does not help your argument at all. Happy to provide my anecdote. In my 40s a

I'm not buying it. Svelte's template language also has different syntax/semantics from HTML as well - arguably just as much. The JSX parts are character for character the same as HTML as well, except for the class/clas

I hear you, but at the end of the day it isn't really targeting HTML. Not when it looks like this - {#if answer === 42} <p>what was the question?</p> {/if}

Now I know why I dislike Svelte so much, I don't believe in its principles. Which is perfectly fine, a framework can't please everyone. HTML is not the mother language - It's actually pretty terrible for describing dynamic u

That's pretty good for the Rav4. From what I can tell though the highlander only has a 5 mile range at a max of 25 mph when in EV only mode. It's very limited and clearly you are meant to run the gas engine most of the time alon

In principle I really like it, use gas for long distance and electric for the other 90%. However aren't you really just getting the worst of both worlds? Under-powered gas engine and limited range ev? Wouldn't it weigh a lot mo

Would love to purchase a Framework, but 16 is way too large and 13 is way too small. A 14 or even 15 would be greatly appreciated. I love my 14" G14.

I'm no crypto enthusiast, but that's not the same argument. You are not moving demand to physical proximity of the renewables in that case, whereas miners claim they can.

Sure they fund "some" content production but the end of the day I'd rather just contribute to the creators I care about directly and pay a reasonable price for YouTube. In the mean time I'll stick with the free version.

YouTube is outrageously expensive relative to other streaming services, especially considering it does no content production itself. I'm honestly rather surprised that many people pay their full price. For my wife and I it would be $2

The iPhone was subsidized by mobile carriers and/or interest free payment plans. I don't see that same path for this VR device, but maybe I am missing something.

The problem with prime is that it is not piecemeal (I am sure by design). If a customer is not happy with a change it might not matter because they rely on other areas of amazon too much. Amazon is just too big, sorry. I don't know w

This seems like such an odd argument to me. The distribution mechanism is what sells luxury devices at a huge profit margin for Apple. It's a value add for Apple to have a walled garden store.

I think part of what we are seeing is a skills mismatch. It's not that the jobs aren't there imho, just that the population has not caught up. You'd think with the absurd amount being spent on college education this would n
