Hi naiv, Nick Vlku, VP of Growth at Algolia, here. Wanted to dive in a bit more on Ben's answer below. To be honest, I was surprised at this limitation too when I first starting using Algolia. Upon some research, it turns out this i

I hear this one a lot, but it's not "decriminalization". Prop 47 reduced theft under $950 to a misdemeanor from a felony. A misdemeanor is not decriminalization! Not even close. You can go to jail for a misdemeanor. This is

I see lots of anti GitHub (really Microsoft) sentiment here, but doesn’t a ruling against GitHub have massive implications for any “all powerful ML trained AI model” period? Like, we’re all swooning about ChatGPT, but how can chatGPT be leg

Kind of... but does that mean we're going to see "Check out Wordpress, it powers 30% of the Internet" or "Hey, Postgres is great!" posts too?

Not to be curmudgeonly, I'm really confused about this post and why it's being upvoted? Django is like 20 years old. It's like linking to the Ruby on Rails site and saying "Compress the complexity of modern web apps&quo

As a reminder, as Elon talks about personal safety, this is the man who posted personal information about a former employee of his on twitter that ended with him having to “move his entire family because of the death threats that showed up”

It's so funny, I recently moved to Chicago and I feel like every other car on the street is a Tesla. The garage in my apartment building has 11 of them. I wonder if there's more of an uptick in the city proper than the suburbs (w

Sorry, I totally missed this thread. I'm speaking to the inside baseball around the App Store that was reported in The Information. Link here: (but it's behind a paywall) https://www.theinformation.com/articles&#

Tech is heavily heavily impacted by politics. If you work in a publicly traded company, you are super impacted by politics. Look at your compensation. If you work in anything that requires access to semiconductors, you are super impacted b

I am so confused by all of these comments/articles, they're clearly created before actual benchmarks have come out (and also seem to have no real world experience with intel GPUs, etc). Intel Arc cards are dead in the water becaus

It's a product of America's climate being more extreme on the highs and lows (a product of the jetstream). The one place that doesn't have extreme summers, the PNW, actually has very little AC too.

Interesting, where are those rentals coming from? Is it just an overall drop in demand for any housing? Intuitively to me, if you make one thing harder to do (buy a house), unless people disappear or you suddenly build more rentals, they g

Actually, that's not true in a strange perverse way. Higher interest rates = higher mortgage rates = higher monthly costs to own = More people being stuck in the rental market = more demand in an already over-heated rental market. R

The Blackwell series from Wadjet is absolutely spectacular and 100% brought me back to that 90s adventure games feeling! Super recommend them too! (I also cried like a baby at the series conclusion)

I don’t think your car comparison is a fair one. You don’t see your iPhone nag you to take it to an “Apple shop.” They usually update while you sleep. My Tesla does the same thing, it’s a car that literally gets software updates while I s
