I mean, surely share holders would want a safe superintelligence rather than unsafe ones, right? I'd imagine everyone being dead would be pretty detrimental to the economy.

I just felt this is a missed opportunity to work collaboratively. Unless the author knows about wine and nonetheless chose to start a new project. Which is completely fine too.

Why Unix v6? Why teach with a 50 years old design? I feel to teach the fundamentals of an operating system, i.e. scheduling, IPC, address space management, a microkernel design would be better.

Really, the only constraint for the semantic of unsafe blocks is that programs that does not contain unsafe blocks cannot have undefined behavior, everything else is by choice. For example, in theory you can make pointer dereferencing safe

I am not surprised that AI results are bad. I know they are bad. But that doesn't concern me because I expect it to get better. What concerns me is that Google would push this trash to the front page. What are they even thinking? Who g

Well, you conveniently ignored half of my point. Even without ssh depending on systemd (dependency introduced by distro maintainers, not systemd, mind you), a backdoor in xz can still exploit your system in a myriad of ways. And secondly, I

Can you even hear what you are saying? Don't you find it ridiculous to blame the XZ backdoor on systemd, instead of the actual hacker? Even if systemd did not exist, the hacker would have just picked something else to infiltrate.

I found the claim in the keyboard latency article suspicious. If keyboards regularly had 60ms key press to USB latency, rhythm games will be literally unplayable. Yet I never had this kind of problem with any of the keyboards I have owned.
