Business Insider has more details here: http://www.businessinsider.com/heres-how-much-money-the-new-... Revenues for About.com have been steadily declining. It's not surprising that the NYT dumped it. I'm just surprised that there was a b

Zed - any reason you don't offer a mobi version? I bought the PDF version and, to be honest, the font is just too small (~6 pt?) to be legible on a Kindle.

In Hollywood there are only a handful of studios. In sports, there are only a handful of pro teams. In software, there are too many companies for an agent to develop a relationship with or tout your services to in the same manner. And the b

I wouldn't say the article is insane. It's positive in nature, but Scott Hanselman has always struck me as an upbeat guy who isn't prone to overt cynicism. However, I noticed that the article does focus on working around Win 8 instead of

I'm an avid Win+{Key} user, so I won't have problem adapting. My family, though ... I'm not so sure. I'm a Windows developer, and I confess that I haven't tried Windows 8 yet. I'm usually eager to try new OS's and learn new things, but this

I don't think you need to bother. People who have flash blockers know that they have flash blockers. We see dull gray squares all over the internet.

I would believe that more if there were a single White House petition that resulted in action. Even their SOPA petition response was pretty murky.

I think that should be qualified. Computers weren't as ubiquitous back in the 70's as they are now, nor was learning material. The TRS-80 with monitor was released in 1977 for ~$600 - about $2200 in today's dollars. I only knew of several k

I get the sense with Vivek Wadhwa articles that he takes a few anecdotes and generalizes them into a larger trend. He's an imaginative guy, but many of his theories are wildly speculative and lack data.

You're probably right about the web fonts, but there is still the issue that the same font will look different on Mac and Windows. Heck, on my system there's a noticeable difference between browsers.

That's a valid point. I don't think the brick and mortar store would be a factor, but if Microsoft's app store had a Metro app section, then Metro AG would have a legitimate claim to defend their trademark.

They should just tweak the spelling to Windows Metwo. Then they could market it as Windows Me 2.0. I know that's a ridiculous, non-HN type of comment, but really it's no more ridiculous than someone confusing a software UI style with a reta
