Interesting "automagic" tool for audio post targeted towards hobbyists and creators. Anyone able to compare this with the entry level[1] version of the professional standard dialog cleanup software, RX? [1] https://www.

Yeah, I guess the thing I'd really like to know is, if the employees aren't bringing core value, then who is? I'd be curious to hear pg's take here, since it's either (1) the founder, for having such good ideas, (2)

I agree that it's almost certain that AI will just concentrate wealth and power. I observed years ago that the reason billionaires were so scared of A(G)I is that it was basically the only thing on the horizon that could disrupt their

I was at the NeurIPS talk yesterday where he introduced this paper, and it made a bit more sense in the context of the entire work. His argument is basically that this method is more amenable to analog implementation, and that eventually he

Any battery experts have opinions on this chemistry? My understanding is that CATL is a fairly established operation and far along in development -- what are the remaining risks in using this chemistry?

The term for this is federated learning. Usually it’s used to preserve privacy since a user’s data can stay on their device. I think it ends up not being efficient for the model sizes used here.

This feels like one of those things where if they had just charged more per device and tried to make it as useful/unobtrusive as possible it would have been better than trying to use it as an ad/purchase machine and subsidize the

It honestly doesn't matter who is correct on the technical details here, for Musk to so publicly go after his employee is a really bad look.

I really only use my echo for a few things, but those things I do nearly daily and it provides enough value that I'd replace it if it broke. I don't need it to be an "everything device".

Is there a way to provide feedback to Kagi that a link isn't relevant in their search? Searching "us election results" for example gives me the results from 2020.

Your comment is supposed to be sarcastic, but it is still pretty limiting to try and cover the entire statistical distribution of human bodies with just two crash test dummies.

Totally agreed, I even think duplication is totally fine in tests if it brings more readability. You should be able to read the test to verify its correctness (after all you don't test the test code), and multiple helper functions and

Seems fair to slow data after a certain amount (and 1TB seems pretty reasonable right now), but it's definitely shady to quietly add it to the terms and conditions and not actually tell customers.

I don't understand why so many people celebrate when Elon treats his underlings like trash. Is it because people hate Twitter and think if you work there you deserve this? Is it because they want to have Elon's level of power and

Personally I feel that plane WiFi doesn't need to be that fast. If they can make it more reliable (especially over water) and with lower latency I'd be more than happy with it. I don't need to stream YouTube.

In the US?? It was VERY rare to find a phone that cheap in 2014. I had a Nexus 5 in 2014 and it went for $350 ($437 in 2022 dollars). And that was considered a really good deal/budget phone.

Is there any good way for me to try this out without buying a $1500 piece of hardware? My instinct is that Oculus' VR vision doesn't make any sense, but I want to try it out before being confident that my instinct is correct.
