As a former Apple fanboy that is also a Sonos lover, I'm starting to get annoyed by the fragmentation caused by the multiple product offerings in this category. I have an Echo, 4 Echo Dots, one of every Apple Device, and a mix of other

Most vacations, at least in the US, are 1 week in length. Upper middle class takes maybe 2 weeks. The wealthy of course take as long as they want. I don't think I've ever had a vacation longer than 10 days.

I get it. I just think Gruber is a hypocrite. Wasn't long ago he was invited to an Apple meeting so he could then write a blog post shilling for them. The boundaries broken are not comparable, but I just don't feel that Gruber has

I don't find the practice ethical at all, but that said, don't understand why anyone would be surprised by this. Users are almost always the product. Seems like the Gruber version of outrage porn.

My father was living on his own (around 65 years old) and suffered through what we discovered was a combination of 8-9 mini-strokes. What's worse is that his doctor did not notice, and they went untreated for over a year. He's now

I think I had two loans that had payments totally 200-300/month. I know one was around $150/month for sure. The other maybe $75.

$500/month is a ton of money when it's competing against groceries, utilities, healthcare, etc.

I got a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in religion. Total debt around 25-30k. I went to school at age 20 and graduated at age 25. I did not go straight from High School. I did not want to be a shrink. I wanted to focus on research. Unfortun

Yes that's true. However, they won't discharge it completely. They'll set you up with a payment plan and/or negotiate the total. I think they still report it to your credit profile though.

I have two teenagers and a 7 year old. The oldest is 15 and doesn't even think about college. I don't nudge him either way, but find it interesting he has not even considered it. My daughter is 13 and wants to go to college, but o

You're talking about corporate debt not personal debt. Show me an example of personal date that is frequently discharged (outside of bankruptcy) and I'll adjust my position. If you're referring to the fact that it can't

I agree with the downvote and the fact that borrowers have skin in the game, but not that lenders have none. Debt should not be dischargeable, else it's not debt at all.

I'm surprised by the comments here. I am a fiscal conservative, but having taken and struggled to pay for student loans, and having hired people in the same situation, find that the lending programs are predatory by nature in that they

There isn't any way to skip out that does not violate the laws of the UCMJ. Getting dishonorably discharged is the result of that process, but it's not like you can just cancel your contract, write a check, and walk out.

The key metric you're missing is distance. It may not carry 1k people per hour, but it can carry people faster than most any other means of transportation. Because of that, I'd venture to say that your paradigm is wrong.

Two reasons: 1. It's where the people are. I don't think anyone is 100% loyal to it, but you have to respect its reach. 2. Instant answers. I can get insight on news via Twitter well before I can get it anywhere else. On top of th

The voice recognition technology is so much more reliable and flexible than I've found Siri to be. It has an API that allows developers to build apps for it, and is updated every week with new voice commands and features that make it e
