A-Frame ( https://aframe.io ) is picking up traction. For many people, Unity is still to difficult to learn, takes work to get an app going, and get distributed. With A-Frame, you can build an VR site with just an HTML file, open

What I like about the Bay Area is that it has some of the greatest backyards within driving distance: Marin Headlands, Yosemite, Death Valley, Lava Beds, Redwoods, Channel Islands, Joshua Tree, Sequoia.

A-Frame ( https://aframe.io ), a WebVR framework for three.js, also has an editor that works like a DOM Inspector. You just hit a shortcut on any A-Frame scene on the Web, and it'll inject an Inspector. Also integrated with A

I surprised Cardboard and GearVR are even mentioned here. The Vive is amazing and its tracking technology is solid. I'm sure wireless solutions, higher resolution, and more ergonomic controllers are on the way. I have the Rift as well,

Pretty accessible on the WebVR space if you are interested in getting in early. Works on Rift/Vive/GearVR/smartphones/desktops/laptops across multiple browsers. An accessible tool includes https://aframe.

Don't feel too old; VRML is mentioned (usually in snark) just about every time a WebVR framework is discussed. Always found the comparisons weird though: one is a standardized file format, the others are JS frameworks.

WebVR and browsers and library versions are very much in flux. It is definitely early-adopter and experimental mode, although WebVR is on clear tracks to get to release versions of browsers: https://iswebvrready.org Totally fine

Hi! I work on A-Frame. The biggest difference for now is that A-Frame is ECS-based (entity-component-system) which promotes composability versus inheritance, similar to the way Unity is set up. A bit confusing since the meaning of component

A-Frame defaults the desktop drag (which acts as a preview for VR experiences) to dragging the camera. For static scenes such as panorama, it can feel weird, but A-Frame does have options now to reverse the drag direction. But when you'

Hey, Kevin from the Mozilla VR team here. Perhaps targeting mobile is a different story, mobile browsers are constrained. We built A-Frame on top of three.js, and we're able to build compelling 90 FPS room scale VR experiences running
