Yeah, website no longer works for me. Clicking load more comments often just me somewhere random. Comment threads have been decapitated by suggestions to other threads. Using Reddit as a source of information via Google search either: 1. Ha

I wish I would've went to one, I think my wife was slated to go since her company was sponsoring the symphony. I'm a casual classical music fan. I play some violin and have played in symphony before, watch TwoSet, and watch stuff

I like SF, but symphonies, operas, ballets, and beautiful parks are like the common denominator of major US cities. But anyways I agree SF is beautiful in many areas, and no one should listen to any opinions of SF from anyone who calls it &

Building my own Anki, but focused on language learning for couples, so you'll get nudges. Both from the app, and from your partner :)

I'm doing a more social language learning app, starting with helping couples learn languages from each other. So it's like multiplayer Duolingo + Anki. Won't be open source, but I plan on an API with import / exports fro

Hey! I'm building an app for couples to learn languages from each other. I started building it because I've been learning Chinese with my wife, but mostly alone with Anki, so I wanted to make it more multiplayer. The app has an An

I'm developing an app around spaced repetition as well, for couples to learn each other's languages. I made the spaced repetition "multiplayer", so the native speaking partner can create appropriate flashcards or check i

So the sessions aren't about having people teach or advise you. It's just a place where you practice your pitch, and share your struggles and feedback, get everyone's immediate reactions, and a small chance you may find a use

Agreed. Anyone can learn a language. It's not even just time, but keeping up the streak and motivation. Learn a little per day, keep up at it, and you'll progress at an N + 1 level. I think it's important people don't bu

Yeah, anyone can learn a language quickly. I'm not sure how much the old brain affects it or at what age it cuts off. But people that put in the time or are in the right environment can pick up a language in months. Polyglots do it all

What pitfalls did you run into? From what I heard, the learner often expects the other person to become their personal on-demand language teacher. And then patience burns out quickly. I think it works if the learner is committed to self-stu

Perhaps it's more likely if you are in a deep relationship with a native speaker, since often that's a reason why people want to learn a language. This is sort of a plug, but I just started a new project to help couples to learn e
