I generally just don't say what my current role pays when interviewing. I ask what pay range they're targeting, and if they need a number from me, I'll offer a range where the low end is what I'd actually like.

There are millions of android devices out there that have been abandoned by their manufacturers, so they might be omitting those details because the flaw hasn't yet been patched (and likely never will be.)

Ok, fair enough. If Spectrum and AT&T both support v6 now (edit: Comcast/Xfinity too!), then that probably does cover a good portion of the wired ISP market.

> Most ISPs in the US already provide IPv6. 45% of users... Is that distorted by cellular providers? I know my wired ISP does not provide IPv6, even when I explicitly asked for it. They do CGNAT for most customers and assign a static IPv

My employer, FullStory, just sub-leased ~75% of our office space because fewer people were coming in and they decide to "roll with it" instead of fighting that battle. They were fairly supportive of remote folks even before 2020,

Why would I want to choose Bun instead of Deno? As a library author, how convenient is it to have one suite of tests that can execute in both Bun and Node.js? (E.g. with jest?)

I agree with you in general, but wanted to point out that layoffs are often related to the companies overall performance and direction. So it's not uncommon for layoffs to have very little correlation with the performance of any indivi

To be fair, it's possible to fix the pricing scheme. I currently pay a bit over $40/month for a natural gas connection and a bit under $0.40/month (total) for the actual gas consumed by our stove top, our only gas appliance.

I think it'll likely be deemed fair use because of how much money Microsoft and others are willing to throw at getting that result.

Well, I mostly use it at home with my server at home also, so technically it works without the internet in that case. But your point still stands anytime I'm away from home.

Oh, and just to clarify, I think open protocols should count towards openess, even on closed source devices. It should just be clearly labeled.

Here's a few things that I would find useful for IoT device labeling: 1) An indication of whether it supports local control, or requires an internet connection. (I can control my Philips Hue lights from my phone even when the internet

Also, the things that are actually listed for a good price tend to disappear much faster. So when you're looking at search results, you're mostly seeing the higher priced items that haven't sold yet.

I never got why Firefox Focus was a separate app? I want the ad blocking from Firefox focus and the tab switching in history and whatnot from the regular Firefox on iOS. But, mostly, I just use Android so it doesn't really matter.

Mozilla's already done the work to make Firefox (the full browser, not just a Safari wrapper) run on iOS multiple times . It wouldn't be that much more work to package it up and release it for side loading.
