Is it possible to replace the firmware on LG or other smart TVs with this? Is there an OSS alternate smart-TV firmware community?

Please don't; this is unethical.

My "commercial display" series 55" 4k LG dumb tv from a few years ago (in Canada) was ~$150 cheaper than its featurewise-near-equivalent (except the smarts) Consumer-oriented smart TV at the time ($900 vs $1050 iirc). However

Not meant to flame: why do people want these? They always just seemed like spam cluttering up an article's comments, removing the space for actual discussion.

A pure turing machine doesn't have access to a real random number generator. So whatever your entropy source is, I think you need to consider that as one of your inputs.

IMO this should be a feature of the window-manager, not the application. But that requires a change in the interface between window-managers and applications, to allow the window-managers to be more heavy-handed. Which I've wanted fo

This is one of those features that is good marketing because it makes headlines about their product. It doesn't have to actually work particularly well (beyond what you can get with a pretty obvious guess), and probably won't. Bu

Agreed. For example, a device which augments my memory by allowing me to replay and record my own experiences, would invariably violate copyright. Which is offensive to me.

Or if perhaps the event happened at all. I think sometimes you can have a very powerful dream that later feels just like a memory.

I love the idea of this, how you write to volume files of a fixed configurable size, that become immutable once it's moved onto the next one, so you can pick up those prior volumes and move them to offline storage whenever you want. T
