Are you sure those tools make the model more efficient?

our energy bills went up 30% YOY and we are nowhere near a data center. It’s easy to see why people don’t like this

many ways to write the same address. abbreviations, fake unit/apt numbers, apt numbers, etc. try to verify that at the scale of nike or adidas. ultimately they are selling out inventory so it probably takes a lot of convincing to spend

Seems like people are spending more time building tools than doing actual work. Lots of overlap too

we avoid it very well with our kids but sometimes I am worried it won't make a difference in the long run and we are just doing hard mode for no reason. kids are pretty adaptable. will be interesting to see in 10-15 years.

Interesting how most people here (a hardcore tech site) are commenting on their experience with Amazon retail

If someone can’t find work they probably don’t care about the global consequences

Could say that about any AI company that isn’t at the top as well

I don’t think the expectations are any less, it’s just different. Much more responsibility around ops and security

The job hopping thing was definitely a trend, but I think it died with ZIRP. kinda weird to reference it now, but I guess it does have relevance to the state of some of these older services. The original teams are long gone

Those comparisons are completely disingenuous Lots of products came out of Facebook that have no moral implications at all

Is there any talk about how google account integration would change if they were forced to sell?

Seems crazy to pay for a financial advisor but not an accountant. My accountant is easily some of the best money I spend.

It’s really not that hard. Software needs maintenance, big deal. This is why we have a job. Everyone complaining in this thread about trivial things like upgrading a build tool once every 5 years is hilarious

there is this weird addictive thing with AI coding. found myself just sending prompts over and over and hoping the next one would finally get it right. sending a prompt and going and doing something else, but mostly end up with a huge mess

Any data on how much more effective the agent is with rules? For example, asking it to treat me like an expert seems like a waste. I don’t feel like the agent responds to me like a noob

Pretty cool and shows a clear issue I’ve seen across any LLM. the language and grammar is so formal/robotic
