This is a fundamentally broken model. You get a good developer they fix the issue in a minute get $1. You get a not-so-good one they take all day and bankrupt you. You have an expectation mismatch, you pay the developers for their value n

Authentication is webdev 101. If you can't roll your own you're in the wrong industry. I really can't think of any good reason to hand crucial control of a site over to any third party, much less user authentication where one

I'd say one major red flag is you're 'self-teaching', should be 'self-learning'. Little things like that are going to make people reject you, even before they look at your code or resume.

For my personal experience I freelance because I know if I did it as an actual 'job job' it would kill my passion. I think maybe that's the same for any profession though, doing it everyday as a 24/7 grind would make you

I had a site deplatformed by them a while back. Rivals from another site signed up, posted objectionable content, used firebug to inflate their views and shares etc. took screenshots. Reported their own content and got our domain dropped! N
