Around 11 years ago, there was a South African startup called Waytag [0] [1]. It was started by some business consultant guys, who I assumed didn't understand the lack of novelty in their idea (from a patent perspective). Their idea wa

How loud does a computer fan get when running at 100% fan, with a high pitch almost like a drill, in your experience? I've just tested with a sound meter app on my phone; granted this isn't the most accurate way of doing it. Silen

It's a fair question to ask. I have tinnitus at ~30 because of loud poor-thermal expensive work laptops. My work Dell's fan gets really loud, to the point where I can't bear sitting next to it. I got desperate as they couldn&

As someone who owns the M1 MBA, the 8GB unified memory thing isn't working. It can work for bloggers who only need to have some light tasks open, but once you install and use Docker, you start hitting the swap. Just in the last ~24 hou

I have a RTX 2070 that's under-utilised, partly because I'm surprisingly finding it hard to understand C, C++ and CUDA by extension. I'm self-taught, and have been using web languages and some python, before learning Rust. I

Interestingly, the plus code for me is almost working. It's sending me to another place once I've put in the location on the site. It's a good start though, I'll try other close plus codes until I get it right. Would sti

The cell grouping is interesting. A colleague likes the outdoors, so he's preordered one for his Suzuki Jimny, to mount on it. I wonder if Starlink are considering this use case. I haven't been able to preorder mine, because we&#x

Yes, by 2-3 years, as its first release was in 2012, and Arrow was still a concept around 2013 (you can see what Wes was talking about during the talks he gave then).
