Same here. I loved the community in the early 2000s. I actually met my wife on DeviantArt in 2002 and been happily married for 12 years now. My life would have been very different without that community. My wife and I both left the communit

Not only that, but Apple seems to have decided to stop supporting open graphics standards altogether, including OpenGL [1]. Apple used to be quite vocal and influential as part of the ARB, not sure what caused the shift of the last few year

I have the same thing happen when I download the .deb file for Chrome from the site, open it in the Software Installer (or whatever it's called), it opens an icon in my tray and sits there forever, doing nothing. It's not until I

I am not sure how this is supposed to start making him money. Doesn't the sticky nature of GPL-like licenses only apply if you redistribute the GPL licensed software alongside your own package or make a derivative?

You can get gently used 2013 T420 Thinkpads on eBay for around $150 with an i7 processor, NVIDIA dedicated graphics, and 4GB of RAM. For non-gaming, it's just not worth it to go anywhere beyond that.

You can deposit an arbitrary amount of funds into an account, while simultaneously calculating the fees charged by payment processors, so unless you deposit an odd amount, you'll never have residual funds in your account. Here's w

For domain name registration, I can't recommend NearlyFreeSpeech.net[1] enough. I moved all my domains there (around 30 at the time) from GoDaddy about 3 years ago and never looked back. [1] https://www.nearlyfreespeech.net&

I hope so. I always thought that Ruby could greatly benefit from something like .pyc files in Python. I love working with Ruby; I get lots of work done in very little time. However, sometimes I just can't wrap my head around certain la

Also, on a minor note for us package creators and maintainers: this version includes the latest version of CoffeeScript, 1.11.1, which will make package development less of a dark ages exercise.
