I assume you might be talking about the Mac app that has not had an update since 2023. But why do we consider that abandoned? It seems like the kind of thing that if it works, why keep updating it? Now if it broke in a new version of Mac an

I do realize that there are alternatives, but I just don't feel the need too. I am already fully within the Apple Ecosystem for other reasons. Continuity is icing on top. I prefer Mac to Windows and I have zero desire to use Android. B

I have seen parts of this ad come up on YouTube and every time I see it I wonder how they thought it was a good idea. There are so many other use cases they could have chosen but instead they went with, instead of a genuine letter lets make

For the most part I am fine with Safari, but I also can't say there is any browser that I actually like using. I feel like one of the biggest problems is, well what are the alternatives? I use Firefox on my PC but since that is primari

This, cannot be real. Why was this not abandoned immediately as soon as the AI Pin and the Rabbit thing failed miserably. Putting aside the questionable (and frankly dystopian) side of using AI for something like this, Apple, Google, and Mi

I don't believe we have any confirmation of Android, but there will be an app for Windows. Which likely covers most of their bases, I imagine the crossover of people with iPhones and a Windows PC is far larger than those with a Mac and

Right I saw that, but no communication about if/when CodeCommit is actually going away. That is something that AWS tends to be really good on. Maybe a bit uncommitted on smaller features of a product, but this is a weird middleground o

Do we actually know that it is being deprecated or just stopping the ability to set it up on a new account? I don't see anything official from AWS stating this. The other link mentions it will still get security fixes but no new featur

This is very much a “easier said than done” situation that I would think Hacker News of all places would be better about when it comes to “just” doing something in code. First Windows already does something similar. After 3 it is supposed t

Hardware failure hosed or just needing a re-image hosed? Unless the hardware was already near failure I don’t see how this could cause hardware failure. The worst case scenario was the machine just constantly rebooting but after 3 (I think,

It does feel like Apple TV has gained a reputation for science fiction (and just generally nerdy things), there are multiple articles out there on it. Putting out the type of content we used to expect from HBO. So my hope would be they woul

This needs to keep being repeated anytime someone wants to blame the company. Many don’t have a choice, a lot of compliance is doing x to satisfy a checkbox and you don’t have a lot of flexibility in that or you may not be able to things li

I sympathize with the engineers, QA, and everyone involved in getting this out. I have to imagine it was a lot of long hours, and the testing was insane. The last thing I want to do is put this tool out and it somehow messes things up more.
