Not gonna lie. Can't wait to run local AGI. First thing I'm going to task it with is producing paperclips.

Last I checked JetBlue isn't a monopoly either (quite the opposite, in fact). That suggests that there are other reasons to block a merger other than preventing a monopoly from from growing.

Its pretty funny because one of the only decent arguments against Beeper was that iMessage isn't actually free because it is a service that is funded by hardware sales so therefore Apple is under no obligation to provide it to non-cust

Google doesn't have "messaging things" anymore. The default messaging app supports SMS/RCS and that's it. They tried the unified SMS/proprietary message protocol approach with Hangouts but that was short lived.

No one on Android really cares. It's actually iPhone users either complaining or excluding Android users from group chats. It's iPhone users creating the social pressure to use iMessage.

But they are the ones that allowed those companies to compete in the first place. And I'm not saying that they should have won. Both Apple and Google losing would have been the best outcome. However, Google losing and Apple winning

You must have been very young in the 90s because AOL dominated the late 90s. And it carried over into the early 00s with AIM even as people started to drop AOL as an ISP. MSN was more of mid-00s thing. The 90s were all AOL though. I knew pe

It would have been encrypted by now (at least for hangout to hangout chats) had it hung around. And at least it was cross platform but overall I agree that mobile messaging should be standardized and open. So while the Google messaging stra

This is why I'm high on the metaverse long term. In ten years, there will be a $500 (or whatever the 2033 inflation adjusted value is) VR headset that blows the Apple Vision Pro out of the water in terms of optics, will run a highly op

This is just factually not true. A lot of YouTubers eventually quit their jobs and become full time content creators. That's means they are able to create more content and the quality of their content can increase as they are able to s

More important than being open source was the fact that it was Windows only for the first 15-ish years of its existence. Mono never got traction within the startup culture. In part, because it operated in a legal grey area for many years re
