I never have my mind set in the first place. Life is massively ambiguous with an infinite myriad of solutions to any problem. I think the smart way to be is to simply say I truly don't know but the data I'm currently using leads m

We encourage women into the workplace with a million diversity initiatives, we also need to encourage and support men in caregiving roles and not give women preferential treatment in caregiver roles.

Yeah a random Georgetown or CMU grad has a lot more question marks than a top 4 school. They may be good but if so why werent they in a top 4 school?

The term engineer is a little vague can be applied to anyone who makes something. My buddy who put pontoons on a picnic table could be considered an marine engineer. ;) I guess graphic designers could be considered engineers, since they use

Yeah that's why I didn't mention developers. I know they're just doing what they are supposed to and I've been there spitting out shitty code for management. This app monstrosity reeks of nepotism driven management or fr

The UI team who designed this atrocity of a web app needs to be made public and shamed and the executives who signed off on it need to be fired and never allowed to work in the industry again.

Absolutely correct. > So at any given point you don't even know what data is present or not present depending on which point in the pipeline it has passed or not? At least with a non mutating data structure with the public contract

I disagree completely. If the data structure needs to be changed it needs to be changed at the beginning of the system typically the front end. And downstream code needs to be fixed to accommodate that. Otherwise youve created 20 different

Yeah, other than sanitizing and validating, you shouldn't be transforming data or you're headed into a state management bug nightmare.

You shouldnt have to "transform" the data though. You should validate the data and sanitize the data...but if youre transforming data youre headed into a state management nightmare. State management is the number one enemy and oth

Sanitizing your inputs is a string issue not a data structure issue. Sanitizing your inputs has been known about for literally almost half a century that should just be default for developers at this point.

how does the "structure" of the data have anything to do with leaking information? Seems like data protection occurs way lower in the stack like https and encryption at rest.

Transforming state data between different layers of the system if done wrong is one of the biggest nightmares in my opinion you could have.

Id venture to say that as this is implemented in the authors post this could scale to many many thousands of QPS by just bumping VPS resources. Funnily a lot of these 'simple' techniques actually speed things up like writing to a
