I think you should move this up a few notches in your todo list. If you can generate the pages for every city, do it, publish them, I think you will gain great google juice. Especially as a lot of people are looking at growing there own v

Seems like a simple business problem: find someone or some company that has the seeds you need in country, set up an account with them to ship to local addresses. Or worse comes to worse, set up an affiliate program, find a citizen of that

If someone knows of a place where I can get good worldwide weather data-sets, this would be a very interesting project for me to try.. I don't think it would be hard (given good quality sets) to match the US zip-code data to other places. I

Yikes. I think introducing 'merit' based voting is a terrifying idea. People with high IQs still can make stupid votes. How about trying to educate people on what the issues are, and how their votes would change those issues.

I was talking about 'rolling your own' degree. Of course if you are in university then you should do what is required. But if you are studying for knowledge sake, then the 'thesis' can take a very different form.

That really hits the nail on the head. I am currently trying to learn chemistry, and trying to figure out the what to learn part has been extremely hard. Even trying to get a handle on the correct terminology so that you can then search o

What do you find is the problem with the MIT OCW? Personally I find it is a bit of a pain to work through their different tracks and to try to compile a complete list of materials, and put together a study program. I am also trying a logic

I think with a little preparation you can address all these concerns. It is possible to find a mentor online to act as an advisor, and if you (for example) found a start-up in the field you want to study, then you can partner with other 're

Up-voted even though I don't think you are 100% correct. Its not so much a thesis that is needed, but something similar. For example, I am embarking on an intensive self-study course, in a lot of different subjects. Instead of a thesis, I h

This situation really saddens. I hate the fact that people are self-censoring because of a minority of violent people. This lends them legitimacy, when they deserve none. Seeing this after reading about a girls school being poison-gassed in

Agreed. I have wanted to ask quite a few questions here, but a lot of times a look on searchyc has found the answers. I found it especially useful for finding books about certain subjects.

How is this a feel-good article for BRIC people? I thought that it was an interesting article in that it pointed out a different mentality to innovation: rather than look at tech as the thing to innovate on, these countries are innovating a

Actually, this comment sums up what I thought was wrong with the article. Haters are gonna hate. If you ask for feedback, you have to accept that you will get a lot of negative feedback, especially when you're trying something new, unhe

This is all well and good, but what is the fix? I am aware that there is a lot of stuff I don't know that I don't know (boy is that a clumsy statement) but what steps to take to avoid the whole Dunning-Kruger effect? I don't want to depreca

Sorry for using slang. What I mean is have you tried using your knowledge from one field (say web-dev) and try to see if you can use it for your other field (photos)? For example, you could maybe use the information from your photo sales, t
