Had a similar thing with my friend. He used to drink Pepsi all the time, now he gets stomach burn if he drinks it.

I recently drove a 2019 Tesla Model 3 from NYC to Montreal via Vermont. Personally, I wouldn't do the route I took in a Tesla (/EV) again. The 'range anxiety' set definitely in during the trip because, when departing NYC

Very much agree. I'm a Canadian that moved to the US for better career / pay. Working in finance / VC, I thought I'd be able to buy a house in Ottawa after a few years. Even making upwards of USD $150K + bonus, I can

I did offer to do that but the main problem is she doesn't want to carry the items and it can be heavy for her with all the tools she carries (she's a piano technician). Really only solution would be finding lightweight alternativ

Obviously not. I guess non-toxic (plastic, PFAs, etc.) would've been a better description.

To my understanding, they can't be microwaved so it defeats the main purpose my wife uses plastic wrap for (wrapping rice balls / covering food and heating them up)

Convenient non-plastic solutions need to be developed. After learning about micro plastics and forever chemicals, I started to get paranoid of this stuff. Started cooking at home more and started removing plastic from my daily life. After m

My assumption would be that they have something to look forward to. Some parts of Africa have improved a lot over the years, whereas the US, for the most part, had it good and now is seeing it slowly decay in real time.

Yeah, Google's quick announcement of throwing $300M into an OpenAI competitor kind of reeked of desperation

I often perceive luck to be the combination of opportunity + skill/talent (in the sense that you have the skill/talent to take advantage of the opportunity that comes your way). I find that a lot of people like to chock up the suc

I work for a Japanese bank in NYC. Up until COVID, when we had documents that had to be signed by the Tokyo team, we'd overnight it to them via DHL.

You really have to be vigilant. In the summer of last year, my wife and I went to the Bay Area and I rented a Tesla with FSD. While driving from Santa Cruz to Redwood City, I decided to put on the FSD. The car drove fine for a bit then rand

Paraphrasing here but when I looked at crypto forums one mantra they always had was: If you don't own the private keys, then you are not the true owner of the funds.

If you're trading crypto pairs then that is considered a taxable event.[0] Many people owed taxes in 2017 because of that rule. It's not considered a like-to-like exchange. [0] https://www.coindesk.com/learn/

Canada has been doing this for years. Before going through customs / immigration, you go to a kiosk and scan your passport, then it asks to take a picture of you. As far as I recall, there is no sign that notifies you if you may refuse

If you're in the US, it's possible it can be covered by insurance. My wife and I are in the process of doing IVF. Though it can be very expensive - the injection medications cost a total of $16K. Thankfully, it's covered by m

That's what I was thinking. I worked for one of the Fortune 500 insurance companies a few years back. They had a semi-annual cuts that saw a bunch of people laid off, including one person who had been working there for almost 15 years.
