That's true. What's odd to me is that I'm not actually sure why or how RSS is broken, but bloggers are finding again and again that the engagement happens on the email list. Even though objectively RSS should be a much better

Hey Graeme! Good to hear from you. Send me an email. I'd love to hear specifics on how the book and course sales are doing now!

Yeah, It was an experiment I started running when I focused on ConvertKit. So far it's increased revenue, but it obviously has the side effect of fewer purchases.

Yep, like everyone is saying ConvertKit is about following content creators you get a lot of value or entertainment from. We tend to get better open rates and deliverability across the board because we exclude a lot of the traditional busin

I think it depends a lot on how specific you are. I hate generic cold emails as well, so I've always struggled with this. My theory is to just personalize as much as possible. And more importantly, only reach out to relevant potential

Love this. I think early on I had the same idea as the commenter above—that 2-3 years without results is the anomaly and means it's time to move on. Hopefully we can tell more stories to show that two years really should be your minimu

Huh, this is the first time I've heard it suggested that putting all of your savings into a company is not bootstrapping. And to add some detail, it was $5k initially, then $50k when it was time to focus on growth.

Originally we had it all lumped together as 3 weeks, but then when we hired in California we had to split it out and have at least 3 sick days. That was done before we were profitable, so we may still increase it. Also since people work fle

I love the idea of having a car specifically for children to play. I'd pay extra for my kids (5 and 2) to have a place to play. Just a carpeted car with basic toys like many airports have.

Airfare is super cheap right now. So that helps. But most people in the US in tech will have access to credit cards. So it doesn't make sense to complain about someone showing you how to travel the world cheaper.

But you can get the miles for free with a credit card sign up bonus, so it is actually $1,000 per month. The entire point is to learn how to use travel hacking to pick up hundreds of thousands of miles.

I love travel hacking so much. In the last 5 years I've picked up about $40,000 worth of flights for just miles and taxes and fees. Now my entire family leverages credit card sign up bonuses for free flights. Hopefully this course will

I'm not sure we could have. A year ago we had $10,000/month in revenue and more than that in expenses. It's really hard to be profitable before you have meaningful revenue. We were profitable from July to December last year,

Those are mostly from asking for volume discounts. At that time we were spending over $4,000/month, so it wasn't more than a 20% discount. Now that we're at $10,000 per month I was able to get another $1,500 knocked off.

Yeah, now that we have a decent amount of cash on hand Wells Fargo and other banks have offered to reconsider on smaller lines of credit ($100k).
