Ok, that makes a lot of sense. It's not a situation that applies to me, but I can certainly see the appeal. Best of luck (assuming you're Brain Scates).

I'm not convinced that a web-based solution can "not suck" more than Transmit already doesn't (does?). Transmit mounts a drive on my desktop and I just use it like a drive. It stores my accounts in the keychain, which I much prefer to stori

Qt also "uses native widgets". It doesn't matter, it's still wrong. Yes, the buttons have the right pixels, but nothing behaves exactly right. I think it's actually worse feeling than a toolkit like GTK+, which is more of a Linux toolkit

I don't get it. Is a single huge browser window seriously considered "good" now? I thought that the whole point of the "useless" green button in Mac OS X was that you should never maximize anything. Two browser windows side-by-side are

This is interesting. I'm just out of college and from central Massachusetts, a place that I can best describe as "incredibly boring" (but with pretty good public schools). However, Silicon Valley doesn't appeal to me at all. San Francisco?

This might be obvious, but this show is excellent, and if you haven't watched it yet, don't watch this video until you have, as there are some major spoilers.

That Helvetica Neue (UltraLight) is seriously unreadable. It's a beautiful typeface for headlines and accent text, but blocks of it are mush.

I can take the Red Line from Park Street to Harvard Square. I can't take it to Worcester or Providence. If Manhattan was its own city, it would still be associated with Brooklyn, because they're one subway stop or bridge walk apart.

The iPhone example is funny because Apple themselves used the New York Times as the example in their "it's not the mobile Internet ... it's just the Internet" advertisement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzV-W_6WOm0

Not really. Exposé hasn't been good since Leopard. In Leopard, there were some simple rules. - Every window on the screen is fully visible. - Windows are sized proportionally. - Movement from the original position was as minimal as possible

Boot Camp only allows for one other OS. Back when I tri-booted, I had to do it all manually (and use refit). Boot Camp had no idea what was going on.

I casually dabble in making music with Logic. When you open it (in Snow Leopard), it opens the last opened project. Logic is a pretty complex application, and there are a lot of different synths and filters. The synths take a lot of memory,
