Comments are generally superfluous, sometimes incorrect and often used to explain away bad code.

That looks like noise to me. There is almost four times more code dedicated to comments than useful code. If you write unit tests it would cover/explain all these cases. I don't see the point.

I agree, in some areas they are simply amazing. In others, they have a lot of work to do. For example, the devs at my company that have had to use shopify hate it. Their systems are based on hacking javascript for everything. The deployment

Angular's dependency on the DOM for rendering will always make testing it very difficult. This will continue their move towards feature based testing. Feature tests have their use, but they do not scale and provide the least useful ins

The default behavior for coffeescript is to hide the code in a JS module (the pattern). This is to prevent turning variables into globals. This behavior can be disabled, but I see it as one of the many benefits of coffeescript.

Weird conventions, like including index.js by default. It does not play nicely with coffeescript's default behavior of including a module. The modules being a hack built into the language, I have to read library docs and follow externa

Really? I think it is terrible when compared to other languages (C#, Java, Ruby, Python, etc...). I have only done a few applications on node, but my experience with including modules was painful to say the least.

You can view the files in the html script includes while in development mode. It just feels wrong to me to do this manually. I have written the infrastructure code to handle javascript minification and compression. Not having to manage a sc

Coffeescript is really nice, though it can sometimes be a pain to debug. Haml is more succinct than HTML and I like the forced tab alignment. The problem is I almost never write view code that does not need to immediately be debugged in the

You know you can require another file at the top and the asset pipeline will ensure it is loaded first right?

Why Haml at all? You will be changing all of your html in a browser anyways. Why not write html/erb?

The best designers I have worked with write code or wrote code at one point in their career. It is difficult working in a medium you do not understand.

I have always struggled writing a regular expressions. Even after being successful in writing one, I could not retain what it did once I returned to it. This library is definitely for people like me.
