The Monitoring the Future graph shows a pretty good uptick in youth happiness up until 2009/2010 and then we basically see a precipitous drop ever since. I would say the initial introduction of social media was pretty awesome(as a 90s)

Not ever being married myself, I would think that marriage should be an incredible experience to learn about yourself and your partner. A failed result can always have a positive return if you can find something to learn out of it. To foreg

The more likely speed bump you might face is if you post something and it rubs your co-workers the wrong way or in some way makes your employer think there is a conflict of interest. It really depends on what the content of the blog is.

Just wondering, any sources for anything you’ve said here? Last time I checked, not every rich person has a private jet or 20,000 sq foot home, but I’ve been wrong before.

I think you opportunistically left out the "stereotypically" in your quote. OP is not saying they are eating less rewarding foods for them but less foods that others might find rewarding.

It depends, I have a really big sweet tooth, but it is a self-reinforcing craving. There are people that really do not enjoy sweet things, and a lot of that has to do with those people not consuming sweets as a part of a regular diet, so th

I think the widespread option of remote work is a good step forward. The fact that it came about in such a quick fashion was not ideal for the re-shuffling of the real estate market, but hopefully it will even out in the coming years!

Remote work is essentially what created a large housing cost increase in other cities. Also for cities like NYC, reducing demand will be difficult. NYC has always been a city where lots of people want to live(maybe not you or me, but it doe

Having higher local taxes in major cities would just expand the problem. The poor and middle class will get further pushed out, and the rich who can afford the tax and prefer living in the city will stay, in which case you just get SF all o

No sure why you’re getting downvoted, this makes sense. Humans are incredibly good at adapting to environments. From your perspective, it sounds like a change of pace kept things interesting.

Not overly optimistic on a soft landing either, but I also don't want to become a doomsdayer. My real concern is that this economic unrest is happening in parallel with political unrest, and that just means the fan that the shit will e

While oil might have hit 100/bbl, gas price still only hit 4$ very briefly and the impact of higher prices was generally limited to that sector. Today we are seeing higher prices across the board. Depending on what stat you look at, th

One of the most amazing things about aimlessly walking is the opportunity to let your mind wander freely! Not to say that you can't multitask while walking, just a thought :)
