This seems plausible to me, but the principle holds here that correlation is not causation. "People are happier and healthier, and even wealthier when they’re living in a walkable neighborhood." From my experience(so sample size 1

Farmers have been able to do this for a very long time, but the process is very inefficient and messy when done at scale. Certainly these are good strides forward though!

It doesn’t seem that wild for a board to be looking to increase revenue results/shareholder value, especially in current economic headwinds.

Agreed! Depending on your definition of 'modern society', I would say that pretty much all of those complex problems have been around for as long as humans have found a way to organize.

You can get centrists over to your side, or people with loosely held beliefs. You aren't getting 99% of the extremists. Proselytization likely works most effectively on the above groups, and while it might be a big win to convert 1 X b

Trying to convince someone opposite of something they really really believe in has a very low probability of success, you will just ground them more into their belief. There are different pathways, but they take empathy and patience, some t

I totally understand that, statistics really is a double edged sword. I think a good journalist can do a lot of wonderful things with data. If we end up living in a world where journalists are banned from using data at all, that would be ve

I feel like the 4 day workweek will need to be led by new businesses rather than hoping large corporations will ever go there. In my mind a 4 day work week would also increase consumption across the board as people have more time to vacatio

Idk what you going on about to be honest. I was talking about society in general, not the 1%. You're also just letting survivorship bias take over. Just because the cherry picked examples you picked out got to the top doesn't mean

It won’t ever be so black and white. Certainly some cultures place less emphasis on the future, but western culture definitely revolves around long term goals of building a family/retiring, etc… I think a lot of people are choosing not

I agree. Finger pointing is easy, and for a short time, might even feel good. But it does nothing to solve the problems of today. The main questions to ask are: "how can I learn from the past?" and "what can I do to help the

I should have added in my example that I was talking about a breakdown in relationships or ability to help between 2 living family members. Of course orphans or people with no living family is very difficult situation.
