Why are Lisp and typing incompatible with eachother? Sounds like an interesting problem.

I didn’t claim landfills don’t exist, nor that there is unlimited room in populated areas. I claim that there is essentially unlimited room if you’re willing to travel a few hundred miles, at least in the states. Trucking trash is pretty ch

I assume we’re talking about eventually running out of resources to make $thing, not running out of places to put old $things? Because I just drove through Nevada and can personally attest that we are not in danger of running out of places

Thanks for the response, that seems like a healthy way to look at it. I’ve avoided touching any of self-genetics, for fear of finding out I’m going to die of something terrible, thanks for the point about medical stats being nuanced .

Genuinely curious, what's your ultimate goal here? What do you optimize for? Total life-years, sum quality-of-life, etc.? Seems like picking out the diseases you don't want to get/die from is a way to go nuts; curious how you

Importantly, it’s a band-aid that consumers (especially in the US) can be convinced to want - EVs are fun to drive! Versus the “right” solution, which is near impossible to sell to the populace.

This would be a pretty cool advertisement, streaming server logs from production in Times Square. A foolish risk, perhaps, but imagine the buzz.

The Cares program is kind of the catch-all “I have a weird non-work issue I want help with”. You could ask HR/management what to do if you were under siege by zombie geese with chainsaws; they’d say to contact Cares. I’m guessing if th

Then you’re making the argument that the hospital is forcing this because they’re worried about their own employees being hospitalized. Even at a 10% hospitalization rate (much too high), that’s 70 people. Who won’t all get sick at the same

Shouldn’t be too hard to pull FlightAware data or similar and just not ever shoot within n degrees of aircraft… if it was really much of a concern to start with. Big sky theory.

It’s not that bad - make an LLC right now (in most states, it’s a single form to start one), then you have no excuse. Taxes are easy. You probably don’t even need the LLC, but I like having a bit of a legal umbrella (though chances are, no

You don’t have to be concerned. Another commenter brought up that the death rate per 100k is in the range of 1.1 (vaccinated) to ~5 (unvaccinated). Car accidents are >10/100k/yr.
