I want to just second every part of Chris' answer. As for how to spend that $3k? I'd say work on finding a way to articulate your value proposition well enough so that you can convert customers at a high enough rate compared to wh

I was actually speaking on behalf of one of their target markets, as me repeatedly having to ask my personal trainer to correct his VAT calculations came to mind ;)

I'd love to be able to specify the subtotal after VAT is applied as well, since that's often what you quote in practice and converting that to pre-VAT prices is a PITA. VAT is also actually called BTW here, so the ability to chang

Somewhat off-topic; but if you're wondering how this became a story on HN: it was submitted to the ListServe a bit over an hour ago. The ListServe is a really cool email lottery where every day one person wins the chance to send an email to

I was just discussing over lunch that I really don't understand why AirBnB doesn't just offer cities the ability to add 'tourist-tax' on top of the AirBnB rates. In the end it all boils down to cities not wanting to give up the revenue st

I'll ask this on the off chance that this was posted by the author; have you considered adding support for importing from and exporting to curl commands? When you work in a team with non-developer testers they tend to use a GUI REST client

My first solution was assuming you could not revert. If you want to allow revert then the client would first call /posts/X/versions, get a list of all versions and then either do PATCH /posts/X { "version": "older-revision" } o

Indeed. Creating a new version of your post should be a POST to /posts/X/versions. This would create something like /posts/X/versions/U-U-I-D. Since REST is all about mapping to the underlying semantics of HTTP you'd then want to make /post

I'd say the phone industry is starting to approximate the fashion industry, with Apple targeting the high-end designer market and Android the cheaper but much larger mass-market segment.

For those without showdead on; it seems that Brian (not-D) Foy was hellbanned for his comments. It seems obvious that he is a disgruntled ex-employee so you should take his statements with a grain of salt, but since I don't see any reason f

We might be having an issue with the definition of the word consultant here or the Dutch market might just be different. My contracts generally always come in 3 month stretches. In case I haven't received a signed 3-month extension 1 month
