In my college years I've been told a lot of things by my profs. ORMs will kill RDBs, UML is the shit, Agile is the future of all software engineering etc. I could never see most of those things happening but always assumed that they&

IIRC FiiO makes BTR3/5 Bluetooth DACs. You can use those to bluetoothize your high end headphones as well as a USB DAC.

Hey, I didn't say procrastination's not useful-ish. I once learned, among other things, the difference between sleet and hail but that critical knowledge was of no use to the client or the project I was supposed to be working on ;

Your reply sound like a straw man, sorry. Bitcoin is a relatively new asset. What I think he's saying is that some of the price increases are attributable to the loss of value of 1 USD and some to geniune BTC price discovery.

I recently upgraded/switched my dev machine from a desktop (Intel NUC Hades Canyon) to a Lenovo Legion 5-15 ARH "gaming" laptop with 32GB, 2xM.2 and Ryzen 4800H (more mobile, more pandemic friendly). It's a big laptop by

I didn't do the math on this one, but it seems to me that the whole financial system (and all that's needed to ensure it's reliability and security) uses a bit more energy than Ukraine or Argentina.

I don't think that cryptocurrency energy consumption is as big a problem as it's been recently painted in the media. Bitcoin, Ethereum etc. are, potentially, self-contained, almost complete, final, financial systems. Using a VISA

I never truly understood that - prohibiting companies outside of US from getting American customers. If the US govt doesn't want that to occur maybe they should police their citizens instead and see how that goes? I mean, an American c

I make a lot of photos and videos, those take up a lot of space. 128GB to store everything locally won't cut it. That's why I have a backup in form of Dropbox. Additionaly, I plan to amend that with a self-hosted solution. I know,
