I don't get that. As opposed to what? Displaying an unfamiliar window what gets in the way and is confusing?

I wonder if the fact of making babies by couples in lockdown will not be offset by singles in lockdown unable to go out and meet people for baby-making purposes.

I have no idea why there still isn't another eink smartwatch. It was such a wonderful piece of tech. Worked wonderfully, had days of battery life and, most importantly, non trivial and loyal customer base.

Oh man, it's easier than that! I use Google Dampener (tm). It's a new revolutionary, cloud-based product, coming to you soon (tm). Basically works like this - something that Google makes/announces makes you excited? Dampen yo

Yeah, it seems it's a recurring theme nowadays with companies - you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. And this time the company is named Robinhood ? You really can't make that stuff up.

I remember playing a lot or Warcraft 2, Stunts, Dune 2 etc when I was young. However, what I "wasted" even more time on is writing cheats (Warcraft) and map editors (Stunts) for those games so... On a side note I tend to think kid

Ok, humor me here, you guys are certainly smarter than I am. This would be based on a flawed assumption that history is a good indicator of future performance. I choose an entry point into Bitcoin somewhere in the last 12 to 5 years. From t

Isn't the point he tried to make that if you've chosen an entry point into Bitcoin anywhere in the last -12 - -5 years you'd still be ahead 5 years later? So that if your time horizon is at least 5 years and if history is any

Ugh. Tulips weren’t scarce, easily transferable, divisible and didn’t last. The comparison has no place in a discussion. As for the bubble argument - there have been bubbles in other asset classes and no one calls them out as worth nothing

Didn’t say it was easy to monetize. I do recall a bust, some time ago, of a ring that used prerelease (?) announcement pdfs already placed on publicly accessible servers (?) as a source of insider alpha. (‘?’ because I’m on my third whiskey

This. Came here to say exactly this. I hate those stupid apps that use custom interfaces and custom buttons and whatnot. And for what? "Branding"? Somehow f.lux gets a pass from me here but it's on thin ice ;)

Seconded on the LG WebOS. Hated smart/dumb TVs (Toshiba, Samsung, Sony) until I stumbled onto LG's WebOS. Speedy, works as expected, has most of the streaming apps. I thought the MagicRemote mouse thingy is going to be a gimmick b

I tried it some time ago and liked it. Self hosted aspect is a big plus for me. However, I've since stopped using it because the upgrades did fuck it up more than once I think and it was too slow to add information, too much friction.
