It'd be cool if there was something akin to Dolby Atmos where you don't deliver a master, but rather individual tracks and associated metadata, such that it can then be mastered on the fly depending on the output equipment. Many g

Noise cancelling headphones and ear plugs have been a god send. I just recently got the new AirPods and the noise cancelling in those is phenomenal, I've only experienced better in bulky over ear headphones. If you're in the marke

I’d have hoped for HN there’d be an article focusing more on technology, and not just a marketing site. That said, does anyone know how this compares to LG’s OLED tech?

I always thought the prohibition amendment was about enforcing a nationwide ban, but individual states could (and did, no?) prohibit the personal consumption of alcohol as they saw fit before then? Is this not the same with other substances

Honestly I think the real dereliction of duty here is that not everyone have the same opportunities to plan their taxes like the big boys, and if you call the tax man for help they're obviously not going to do anything for you. I have

So are you saying that you believe YouTube will also perish because it's now mostly spam, albeit sanctioned spam? Not a facetious comment, I genuinely wonder. It'd be a wonderful twist, in a way.

For dry leaves this would be fine I’m sure, but the problem is wet leaves which essentially turn to slime that would just be spread along the track by a system like that. If you’re in a locale where leaves fall in the autumn, next time you’

As a Swede I'd say week numbers are pretty ubiquitous in Sweden, with perhaps the first exposure to using week numbers being primary school. I remember counting down to week 9 (spring break) and, I guess, all the other breaks too. Asid

I agree, it's infuriating. I don't have a car and don't drive too often, but when I do it's mostly reasonably long distances (4-6 hours) and almost always at night because it's the only time I have. I try to drive a

The decision to embed SQLite had more to do with query capabilities than storage. We need to expose a query interface that is both flexible and powerful, and ideally it’s not something esoteric. We need something BAs can pick up without muc

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but I’m using it to embed SQLite in an app that’s both desktop (electron) and web-kinda-sorta. I say kinda-sorta because really what we’re doing is embed SQLite (and other dependencies) in an html
