Yeah, the switch was the first and last console I bought since the PS2. The value proposition of a combined console and handheld, coupled with lots of nice games made it well worth it. On the other hand, I'm no longer interested in the

Matrix, or at least Element, has terrible UX, though, and I'd never recommend it to my family. It opens three message boxes every single time I open the web client, and I can't disable these boxes permanently. Oh, and I have to lo

I don't like it, at least not Element. It pops up 3(!) message boxes at every single login (and I have to login every time because it doesn't remember logins) with no apparent option to permanently disable them.

I dislike the forced windows update because they shove crap down your throat with the updates, try to force edge on you, and repeatedly try to get you to accept their privacy stuff.

In my city, cycling lanes are never going to happen. And even if they were to happen, I would never ever want cars driving 100km/h through cities.

Speed limits are important for non-cars. As a cyclist, I don't want people overtaking me 100km/h with a 1m gap. As a pedestrian trying to cross a small city or town street without dedicated crossing, I don't want drivers to s

It's not because immigration became harder - they are all MScs or PhDs, some even already did internships in the US, so moving shouldn't be hard. It's because we think that the US is no longer a desirable place to move to.

The interleaving/morton code bit hacks are great. They result in serious performance improvements if you need to compute morton codes.

A large amount of things won't work with the best of software optimizations. You won't be able to decode 4k videos on 20 year old consumer hardware. You won't be able to run games with today's 3D graphics on an N64, no m

Web browsers are just getting started, in my opinion. Browsers already are the most effective way to share content with a massive audience, and WebGPU and WebXR are going to lead to a whole lot of new types of content.

Traditional game engines work in ways that aren't suited for browser based gaming. There is quite a bit of work that needs to be done in optimizing asset streaming without the need for long wait times.
