The one thing that sets it ahead from shadertoy for me is that it doesn't crash the browser, probably because they use prerendered thumbnails for the previews instead of the actual shaders. The shadertoy front page reliably kills chrom

Last time I've tried Jupyter, about a year or two ago, the user experience wasn't even close to that of Mathematica. I guess I'll give it another chance, but can you tell me in what way Mathematicas notebook interface is outc

I know that certain herbal cookies work vastly better than ibuprofen, even a day after intake, but they're not prescribed very liberally around here.

Herniated disc. During the worst weeks, I could hardly move inside the bed, let alone "work on it". Imagine you desperately need to pee but it takes you ten minutes to get out of bed. It's much better now so I take smaller do

"And please be careful with ibuprofen" Ibuprofen is what allows me to get out of the bed for the past 3 months. I'm not sure that doctor knows how bad pain can be without medication.

For some reason, performance.now() and even the performance profiler are capped at 1 milisecond precision on my machine, which make both pretty much useles. Can only get better for me. :|

I need concurrency to parse and prepare streamed 3D data while keeping the main javascript/render thread fast. WebWorkers are already very useful in that regard.

Strong typing is a start but not enough for my taste. Static typing serves as documentation and compile time bug check, which is awesome to have. I'd like to have both, without the detour over typescript.

With ES6, JS became a really nice scripting language. Personally, I'm glad to see more and more projects that use javascript outside of web browsers and I've also added V8 to my most recent C++ project. The only major drawback in

Yes. I've added V8 to my recent C++ project since JS is my favourite scripting language and it does wonders. JS has become a joy to use with ES6.

I'm a bit sceptic of this claim. You can also produce acceleration structures for reasterized polygons, create hierachical level of detail representations of your scene and render whatever LOD is necessary. This reduces the number of p

It's not that it's confusing, rather it's unnecesarrely cumbersome because it's explicit and because you have to put it as an argument. Looking at the "most used words" [1] list of python, self is the #1 used w

Might as well use Cobol then, if you're that syntax agnostic. I, on the other hand, can't stand the syntax of python or COBOL and it's one of the major reasons I avoid these languages.

For floats, 1.0 / 0.0 produces Infinity according to the IEEE standard. I prefer it that way because it perfectly makes sense for the algorithms I usually deal with and having to check whether the denominator is zero or not makes code

I'm in favour of 1.0 / 0.0 = Infinity, as in the current IEEE floating point standard. It makes much more sense with many algorithms. Checking whether the denominator is 0 or not costs time and unnecessarely bloats the code.
