I'm having the same problem with CMake. Adding a third party library was an intense challenge. CMake isn't easy.

Find probably wasn't the best example but even with find, I sometimes want to look for an item in a vector with 20 elements. In cases like that, I'm fine if find() has to apply a comperator to every element until it finds the firs

C++11, 14 and 17 finally made me fall in love with C++. It's almost like having a nice and easy scripting language with the added bonus of static typing and a huge performance boost. There are a few things that I'm still not quite

In my opinion, there are far bigger problems with pythons scoping. Why is for/if/etc not it's own scope? You can define a temporary variable in there and mistakenly use it somewhere down the line. In a "for i in .."

Smart pointers realy need a native way to be specified, similar to how we use & to declare references and * for pointers. Filling your code with shared_ptr<Something> and the likes is just not going to win the majority over, even

I find it unnecessarely bloats code and in most cases makes it harder to read due to redundant text, e.g. # 1 def length(self): return math.sqrt(self.x*self.x + self.y*self.y + self.z*self.z) # 2 def length(sel

1. It's very very hard to find out what's intuitive, yet powerful to use. Unlike implementing some algorithms, creating a good UI requires feedback from users. 2. It takes a lot of time and you frequently have to start over once y

Banks in europa do just fine without charging for wire transfer, within europa at least, and I still don't have to pay anything for my bank account. Except for a small fee for the credit card.

It's a weird thing in the US where you still can't just go online and send money to any recipient. When I rented a flat, I thought I'd just directly send money to my landlord. Nope, not possible. Not at all. Had to fill out c

C++11 and 14 are the reasons I started to enjoy C++. I still dislike the cumbersome build process around of it but at least the language itself has become something that is nice to use.

I don't know, I kinda like ".bind(this)" to bind the current scope to a callback. class Vector{ constructor(x = 0, y = 0, z = 0){ this.x = x; this.y = y; this.z = z; setTimeout(function(){ con
