This is obviously project-specific, but most rewrites that I've been a part of are usually not "re-implement everything from scratch", but rather "re-implement everything based on this new framework/library", w

Sorry to break it up to you, but the warming is accelerating, as the amount of GHGs is increasing year-by-year. So it may take even less.

Yes, that would be trivial. I wonder if this is not done because it's expensive (maybe brine corrosion requires expensive pipes), or because governments will simply do nothing until there is public outcry (unlikely to happen in Saudi A

Only innovating on price, not on dealing with the toxic brine dumped into the shores (ocean shores are a bio-diverse eco-system in itself, that you can't find in the rest of the ocean).

Where did OP state that he hated jews? Is the Israeli government synonymous with Jewish people now? I have a lot of respect for Jewish people but a lot of resentment towards the Israeli government, as well as many Israelis.

Subsidies for suburbs go deeper. Spread out houses means longer water pipes, electric lines, transformers, etc., paid and maintained by local governments. You might pay more taxes for owning more land, but nowhere near as much as what you o

That would not be very Nintendo to just deliver a powered-up version of their console, after already delivering an improved OLED model. The last incremental iteration would have been the GameBoy advance, but even then, the form factor chang

Cockroaches are not a welcome addition into your house's ecosystem, but they are still very useful in the global ecosystem, same as mosquitoes, etc. There are waste products that only cockroaches digest, there are plants that only mosq

I do that all the time... I never buy sugary drinks, but sometimes they come for free in a takeout menu. I can keep it for guests, but even then it piles up in my cupboard, so I drink it in 2 or 3 sittings. It's crazy that Coca-Cola is

That comparison makes no sense. Hawaii island is 100km large and it doesn't say anything about how small the US are.

Obviously reducing private car usage is a priority. I don't have a car, never owned one, and I'm absolutely in favour of severe restrictions. Now, you have to acknowledge the world we live in, a total ban won't be feasible in

Not really, increasing energy efficiency is at the heart of many climate solutions. Clean energy is still scarce, and in the places where it isn't, for instance Germany, there is backlash against it. Not to mention that they aren'

Electric cars are not a solution (most of the particles come from the brakes, tyres and too many roads instead of vegetation, which blocks wind dust and erosion). Heat pumps or electric heating help solve climate change, not air pollution (

Commercial airline flights are packed with 100s of people and fly very high. Flying taxis are for n < 4 (likely n=1) people and fly low. That's like comparing bus networks with private cars.

It's not like that, please read the article. The ads are deceiving people into thinking they are going to an abortion clinic. Google never banned anti-abortion ads, but they do ban misleading advertising.
