Agreed, this doesn't seem overly expensive by any means. But worth noting this is just one developer's cost. Doesn't including licensing/support costs for Domino/Notes itself, hardware to run it on, sysadmins for th

Microsoft dropped support for NT 4 PPC in 1997, very early in the release cycle. SP2 was the last update that had PPC support. Maybe you're thinking of Alpha, that was much better supported and was only dropped during the Win2K RCs. h

Is that just a promotional rate though? I live in Orange County and the list price for 100 Mbps is $65 (and my area has actual competition from FiOS). The promo rates are good, but they'll expire after a year and unlike TWC, Spectrum w

Horrible? Sure it's not ideal, but it allows carriers to go IPv6-only on their internal networks. Mobile carriers already put all IPv4 traffic behind a NAT, so this isn't a step backwards. For most users, the transition will happe

Very cool, I hadn't seen your project before! I've been (slowly) updating MacSSH to support modern SSH servers/crypto, it's actually working pretty well now. Just need to finish some features and clean up the UI. I also

Yep. Everyone writing drivers for Windows/Classic MacOS/UNIX was doing it in C. And Apple wasn’t particularly confident that ObjC would appeal to even application programmers (hence the Cocoa-Java push, and the never-finished ObjC

Exactly. OS X 10.0 shipped with GCC 2.95, it wasn’t uncommon at all to avoid templates and exceptions back then.

I think the only other OpenBSD architecture that supports any SMT chips is sparc64 (like the US T1/T2). Unless an actual vulnerability is found, I don't see other OSes following this lead

This may be part of the reason why no A11-based devices support AArch32. iOS 11 dropped support for 32-bit apps, and its highly possible the chip doesn’t support the ISA at all.

Apple’s complete removal of old docs/videos is really unfortunate, although in this case it’s already deprecated and I think will be fully gone quite soon. Check out the Advances in Networking sessions from last year: https:/

Correct. On iOS/tvOS, it looks like Network.framework (and NSURLSession) is using the transport stack in-process, not layered on top of BSD sockets. On macOS, I believe they're still using the traditional in-kernel transport stack

The title is a bit clickbait-y: passenger 747s were retired by the US airlines last year, and are not coming back. Passenger to freighter conversions (the BCF, Boeing Converted Freighter) are also not restarting. And, it’s highly unlikely
