Clear your mind of feelings of self doubt, clarify with yourself what you learnt from your role and the work you did. Find value in this and use it to move forward.

Really? Interesting to hear, I love there new 'button', with its multi pressure level sensor and it's feedback I think it's fantastic and hey - it's one less moving piece (maybe the last?).

Ironically this site does not work correctly for me on my phone. On the latest stable safari and iOS version the field to enter your email to get the report is missing. No ad blockers enabled etc...

Nope, mine almost always do and I'm thankful for others pointing them out so I can not only fix them but also learn while I'm at it.

Virtualbox... good? I don't think so at all, it's networking and disk IO performance is horrendous, as much as I dislike VMware - Fusion is miles ahead of VirtualBox in all ways IMO except price. But now we have Xhyve & friend

Such a shame, I wonder how long it will take Trello to turn into heavy 'enterprise' bloatware like the rest of said companies products. There are a few good open source alternatives out there now so I'll personally move to on

That is truly wonderful design, I'm genuinely drawn to it and quite envious, until now I thought the current New Zealand passport was quite pleasant - http://i.stuff.co.nz/travel/kiwi-traveller/84012074/t

We still have one web-app written in perl, it's based on the mojolicious web framework to keep it somewhat maintainable, the app used to be heavily tied to mod_perl1 which has thankfully been 'modernised' to not use mod_perl1

Hmm... I still find browsers more memory blind than anything, any machine with less than 16GB of RAM I find really struggles with JavaScript heavy sites, god damn JavaScript.

Could be interesting, we've been burnt badly by 2014 era AMD server CPUs that are gutless as crap and have so many microcode bugs it's a right PITA.

Totally depends on the workload, well threaded workloads with a desktop ARM clock speed of 3Ghz~ or so could perform quite well for say PostgreSQL if properly deployed, but yes - for an interpreted language with a strict GIL like Python it

Out of interest - what video decoding is missing from the 2 * series that is present in the 4 /6 series? Like are you missing out of h265 etc...?

IMO xeons are the most confusing, especially since they often run behind by a year or so. E3 vs E5 vs v2, vs v3, va v4, vs v5 vs core clock speed (important for single threaded apps and databases) vs multicore horizontal scale, 2650 v3 does

ARM, seriously - ok while many apps need to have an interpreter / to be compiled for the architecture - god damn for the the money and the power it shits all over x86 processors, ARM based chips are so damn cheap you /could/

Could not agree more, both in the desktop and server markets - the naming / models are annoying as crap. I.e. As a server CPU it's not clear weather a E5-2660 v2 is better or worse than an E5-2640 v3 etc.... its just... not clear.

I'm such a pessimist with AMD CPUs, I just have bad memories of power hungry, hot running chips with lots of microcode bugs and problems with ACPI etc...

That title... while I'm not disagreeing with the intent or the message that has to be classed as clickbait. Like come on, that's one well of an optioned title for an article that links to an article with a completely different tit
