Author here (matt) -- would be interested in hearing if other companies have had issues with attacks on their live chat or support services. I found this article about Amazon really interesting: https://medium.com/@espringe&

I would really recommend reading the whole article, but especially the middle half discussing how Kik is bringing in brands. It sounds like a texting interface for an AI for major sites; really cool.

Good feedback; I wonder (operationally) which is trickier to switch (payroll or benefits provider).

Has anyone done a breakout comparison of Zenefits vs Gusto (/zenpayroll)? There has to be quite a few companies who have benefits with Zenefits and payroll in Gusto; wondering what's ideal moving forward.

As a foreign founder who went through the complexity of setting up "legacy" hr/benefits/etc in another country, Zenefits was a huge aid in navigating the bureaucratic nightmare in the US.

I feel like this is the founders story to tell, not some medium blog. Not that you can't learn anything from this, but Adora and Aaron have the most insight, and deserve the chance to share it (if they chose to).

It's a fair point to highlight what constitutes a true transactional email, but the content of this guide does cover both transactional and triggered emails (Welcome or registration email is one example of a transactional email covered

This is the PERFECT attitude to email. Companies that do this really well (AirBnb for ex), their emails look and feel just like their website, and always focus on highlighting the relevant information.

Thanks joeyspn! Means a lot to the team that their work is appreciated. You're absolutely correct about our hacker plan; up to 1,000 unique email recipients per month (it resets each month).

Valid feedback pekk. One of the reasons we consulted with people who have run growth at a number of companies is because they could give the inside story; company X did Y because their metrics told them to. That said, a huge caveat is that

Thanks -- we've tried to ensure there's basic information and more involved tips for experienced email folks. The guide also highlights some of the trends we've seen in the last year.

Gives a very fair view of the changes to our technical stack; I would add that Iron.IO really provides an amazing queue and worker service. Eventually it wasn't the perfect solution for Sendwithus, but their offering is very compelling

It's not a strict calculation of "how much is development time". For things like IRAP, the time spent has to be cataloged against a specific R&D project you've received the grant for. For SR&ED, you will be laugh

Great article by Ben -- see many comments that SR&ED isn't "that bad". The first time, it might not be. As you scale and add more engineers, the risk of audit starts to outweigh any benefit.

The most basic level of exit survey (page is closing, pop up an alert) can be obnoxious, so tech to couple exit intent with lead scoring could be really cool (and less obnoxious).

One of the best parts of this, illustrated by the use of red squares, is that "sit and do nothing" isn't part of fundraising. Common YC advice for fundraising is "optimize for speed" (with valuation, amount, brand n
