In what way this is a flamebait? I really don’t understand. Edit: ok I get it, my comments aren’t substantive enough. I won’t post anymore.

I am not familiar with US politics, but genuine question here. How effective is this? Does the respective representative have incentive to follow through or disincentive to not follow through?

This is what I’ve become. I don’t think I am racist, and I came to the US liking the diversity, that was about ten years ago. Now I think I’ve had enough of it, and would rather have familiarity and harmony. I began to resent diversity actu

Why not just give everyone equally? Why just give to the people earning less than $35000. I know the answer, no need to reply to me. Regardless. Give everyone equally.

What if it eventually does affect you in real life? I.e vaccine and mask mandates, Misgendering law, abortion, defunding the police, etc.

I’m loving this article! Looks like there are many commenters that expressed negatives toward this article. But this article resonates with me!

Public education doesn’t directly increase earning. Learning takes effort. Also you can learn useless stuff that has no demand. UBI is a handout. It takes zero effort you might as well lie down and be a rock.

What about between 2 boring technologies? For example I’m debating between Eleventy and Hugo (because I know both JS and Go, but not Ruby so I will skip Jekyll)

Cultures clash. Life principles clash. Non compromising ideals clash. This is the reality of this world. Boundaries and fences are healthy. I’m not saying diversity is bad, like what majority of people here accuse.

That was my view 8 years ago, before I came to USA. It was great for a few years. Now I am not a believer anymore.

You get downvoted ofc because the mainstream thinking is always “diversity is good” but I totally get what you meant. Let us be downvoted together. Doomsayers often are hated.

You only need to spend time teaching a few semesters to have this belief completely turned upside down. I know, because it happened to me.

Why not? The problem is people can’t. I’m all for people learning how to code but majority of people can’t. That’s the reality. I taught coding in college and bootcamps.
