Not by default, definitely. Unless you count via WSL, but WSL isn't installed by default either.

I think you have a very rose-tinted view of how these restrictions would be applied, and by whom. The power to decide what counts as "disinformation" would be the most valuable political real estate there is.

I assumed it was a play on the Yeats poem from which that novel took its title. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Second_Coming_(poem)

My favourite example of the thousand-yard-stare horror of web specs is Manish's "Font-size: An Unexpectedly Complex CSS Property". It's awful and hilarious and just keeps getting worse and worse and worse. https:/&

By "Mozilla/Servo" I meant "the Mozilla Firefox codebase along with Servo as its research testbed", not just Servo itself (which AFAIK was never intended to be a generally-shippable browser). Could have been clearer

Microsoft might have done. Picking Chromium as the basis for their new Edge a couple of years ago, instead of Mozilla/Servo, was a disappointment at the time and I suspect will look even worse in future retrospectives. MS also seem to

Oh gawd, I remember that. Fortunately I managed to return it for a refund. It's easy (and somewhat justified) to criticize the creators here, but I don't think they're the root problem. The root problem is that gaming media a

For AAA titles, sure, but there's a long tail of indies, game jam entries etc. For something retro-styled like Dwarf Fortress or Baba Is You , I can absolutely believe that asset size is relatively minor compared to e.g. a Unity bas

Some don't, some do. Users living out in the sticks with poor satellite connectivity care about binary size. The HTML5 platform, which I see becoming increasingly important as things like wasm and webgpu mature, cares about binary size

Great start here and a very compelling intro post. A couple of things I wondered about and didn't see answers to: 1. How ambitious is Bevy as an engine? Do you see it as aimed squarely at the casual-game space like ggez, or do you thin

I don't think that applies to conditional rendering, does it? You can't speculatively execute a graphics API command buffer submission and then dash after it shouting "wait, come back, I didn't mean it". Same with a

I think mostly because having scads of clever conditionals all over the place greatly increases the risk of subtle and hard-to-reproduce bugs. From a 2007 Carmack email [1] : > The way we have traditionally measured performance and op
