Whatever the hot takes... nothing is more "dangerous" than a sound design philosophy. Sure, there are tweaks to make and I don't love everything about Apple's new design, but what I see is a team with an opinion on how t

My bet is the new iPadOS does nothing to quiet the gripes about the iPad. Window management isn’t the main issue. The main issue is that the iPad doesn’t do enough of what a Mac does when you need it, and so you bring your laptop just in ca

You're comparing multi-touch technology to the experience of the MessagePad? Also, do you know a bunch of people who were big Xerox Starheads? It doesn't count if you don't have mass adoption. Likewise, I'm not really fo

>It’s getting the same kind of attention that smart phones got in 2008, and not as much as the Internet got. That seems about right. Are you kidding me? Mosaic was released in 1993. In 1998 Apple released the iMac on a theory, based on s

As an American, I’m often that countries like Denmark are in fact constantly investing in health and entitlements, and so everyone is healthier and happier. Is that not the case?

Except that freezes Jony in time, as if he didn’t work alongside that editor for decades. I think Jony, like any of us, evolves and picks up new tricks. I’m excited to see what he creates.

Judging by the incredibly smooth video streaming, something makes me think this isn't Windows 98 at all — but rather BeOS with a Windows theme applied. Bravo!

Happy to see this. I've struggled with an injury for the past five years. I've been to multiple sports-focused physicians, had various scans. Responses from doctors have ranged from "everything seems fine, can't really f

That’s an oversimplification of the factions. There are large groups who don’t deny the risk, but question the cause, or simply think it’s not a viable solution to stop the economy, or not treat sick people with grid-taxing medical equipmen

It’s not a requirement. If it’s just the culture of HN to dunk on certain companies or products, then it is. This place doesn’t belong to me any more than it belongs to you. I am hopeful though that we could encourage more diversity of opin

Well, sure, but that’s irrelevant here. Most of the commentary is presuming to know something about OpenAI’s motivations. That’s not honesty; it’s just an opinion. So my question stands. Does anyone have a positive opinion? Here’s a take. F

This was literally my immediate reaction as well. You could further simplify the concept by just asking, What’s next? And other todo apps have done this. Still, I like the aim!

Agree with the author. Deno recently has been loud about Oracle and the JavaScript trademark. Maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong, but it is a “last gasp” when your value proposition is something like: choose Deno, we’re righteous. Fee

The heart of Apple's hypocrisy is this: they claim their 30% is necessary to support the developer ecosystem and fund its operations. But of course if that were true, they could easily charge a high enough platform membership fee direc

In no way is Quest 3 better than Apple Vision Pro for desktop work. I’ve used both. It’s not close. (There are other critiques of AVP that might not make it the right choice, but desktop work experience isn’t one of them.)

O3 is seriously impressive for coding, as well, with Codex. It seems far superior to 3.7-thinking, although it's also more expensive in my usage.

This is poor analysis. It claims OpenAI is spending “3 of its 40” billion in raised capital on Windsurf. Who said this was an all cash deal? And so if you’re purchasing with equity in whole or in part, the critical question is, do you belie
