Yeah, I wanted to understand how they worked, so I stayed away from any framework. I have since moved over to using Theano, Lasagne & nolearn. However, I almost find it just as hard, because it's so easy to step wrong and get error

That's a valid point. I guess this comes down to personal preferences. I do use articles too, but I normally start out with videos. If it's too slow, YouTube fortunately has got the 1.5x speed option :)

Yeah, that was my very first one. I have since started with vectorized implementations instead of that clumsy way I did it the first time. However I found vectorization a bit tricky at first. I'm actually planning to try and learn conv

Yeah, I'm learning just as much as a hired front end developer as I did at my bootcamp. More narrow focus, which gets you deeper into the subjects.

Nice service! May I ask what machine learning technology you're using? I'm experimenting with neural nets these days, in order to learn the basics of image & speech recognition and would love to hear about your experiences if

I attended this course earlier this year. Just landed a job at a startup in Norway as a front-end developer; a direct consequence of the course, which was the most intense learning experience I've had; never learned as much in three mo

I'm very interested in feedback on the tutorial. It's under development and will be the basis of a lecture on the subject in next week. Find anything that you don't think is explained well enough, or in the wrong way? Please

Thanks for all the input, there is a lot of important concepts here, which I'll definitely look into implementing into the course! However, I'm very cautious of making it too theoretical. I want the students to experience the joy

Yeah, that would most certainly keep them motivated, as it's a lot easier when you can relate to WHY your are learning how to code. The one-on-one mentoring through Skype is a great idea. I hadn't thought of that, thanks for the t

One to one tutorship would be great, but we wont have enough teachers for that. Too expensive yes. I'm thinking lectures and tasks, and preferably more of the latter and less of the former :)

Thanks a lot for the input! Project based learning has always worked best for me too, so I'm considering to run it as a "make x in 5 days" course. Using the Twitter API might be a good idea. Then they'll understand how t
