A long time ago, before Analogue Terrestrial TV (OTA) was replaced by Digital broadcasts in the UK, I was visiting a friend in Amsterdam. I was surprised to discover that she was watching BBC television. The signal was strong enough to be r

This! They can have the table back quicker too, if we can avoid the asking for the bill dance, then waiting for the waiter to come back and take payment or whatever. More efficient for the establishment and introverts win too.

I have lived in countries where there is no tipping and it works just fine. Better yet, there's no stress around general tip etiquette or simply "did I tip enough". I find it frustrating to read time and time again "but

Agreed. Furthermore, Google Maps is full of fake reviews with only the option to "Flag as inappropriate" and no option to properly report a fake review with supporting evidence - which I would do, if the option was there!

The threat of jail sentences won't always work: The problem is when the calls are made from another country where the law doesn't apply, or else the law is very hard to prosecute across borders.

Woah there! disingenuous? Using the example of life-saving CPR as a "similar" example seems to be extremely disingenuous of you, and I suspect you know why. * CPR - almost universally considered a good & essential thing for al

That's potentially fine and easy enough to solve. Simply make "I want to see targeted ads" an opt-in choice, then. I suspect the take-up would be a fairly small percentage of the population, but if it would satisfy your needs

I'd like to highlight an issue with the docstrings as they stand. It has been stated by Rich himself on Jira that he doesn't like or want usage examples in docstrings. However, it would seem that many other people would love to se

My impression is that Clojure has reached maturity and most people that are using it are just quietly getting on with their lives and building useful things with it. From my perspective, it has never been better than it is now and there are

Can confirm that this book helps. I read "A guide to the good life" and practised stoicism at a time when my anxiety and stress levels were high. Very useful comment and it's great to be reminded of the book here.

This is really interesting and I'd be excited to use it if the memory usage is even half that of the official Slack client. Bookmarked.

Perhaps it's down to hardware differences then, assuming that you've got a newish machine. This is a fairly old MacBook Pro which will be replaced soon. Hard to say what the cause is, but I don't have any issues with other no
