My co-worker mentioned that they may need to change the word from tax to fee. Something to do with tax being a legal definition...

It's a time intensive thing and not illegal if it's your own code/implementation. The google/oracle case shows that the api is not copyrightable but the implementation is.

sscheper, I love your average on HN (-.2). In response to jsprinkles: I do believe this was just a hack and not exactly intended for public consumption but someone decided "hey that's pretty cool let's chuck it on the web". Which has the ob

I realise this, I used Chrome as the example as I imagine it has the largest audience of users here. I wish I could set incognito per site. I.e. opt in to cookie keeping. e.g. set cookie_keeping=true for gmail.com.

Now imagine if Chrome made incognito browsing the default and you had to access a submenu to get a cookie keeper. Disrupt the web!

This was my exact thought about leakedin. One of the easiest and best methods of scraping real passwords. Even if it is just the hashes.

How much do you expect it to make annually ? If it's millions then 30k doesn't mean much. If it's 5k then 30k means a lot.

Exactly, most commonly with these things is that the db was dumped which does not imply that the source code was accessed. If the source code was accessed they normally don't need a db dump. (unless it was read-only) The first section of th

An even better way of securely storing your passwords would be to mix them around on entry to your bcrypt hash function in a unique way that makes it impossible to brute force your leaked password hashes without having access to the code th

I found it very hard not to disagree with this. And I won't try. The only thing that makes a console different than a phone is the interface and the display. To which I much prefer a console on my big (and yet inexpensive) tv.

It's a strange scenario to be in. Obviously he wants the extra 100k, but if he said "even if we don't get it I will still add python support" then no one would have donated that extra 93k. And then if he doesn't get the 100k and still adds

You don't need to destroy them to make them ineffective. Just find a way to produce a high number of false positives legally. Or hell, get 10 mates to fire some shots in 10 different locations while you make your hit.
