Setting aside a consistent amount of time on a regular schedule to learn is a great way to grow your skills. I do wonder how much of a magnifying effect the author's peers had on the whole learning process.

No. The favicons are cool. The ads are no worse for content than the other links so it's not a big deal. Often it just makes something that is already in the top 3 have a duplicate.

Lose weight, and actually keep it off this time. I lost about 70lbs a couple years ago, but then I went and gained 30lbs back. Going to try to remove that, then not gain any back. On the tech side, maybe go deeper into python.

The book by Michael Benton is intriguing. I remember when I was a kid reading a dinosaur encyclopedia he wrote that I really liked. He talked all about the connection between birds and dinosaurs in it. Really engaging writer.
