The "Weisswurstequator" - a rough dividing line north of which the white sausages just aren't a thing - also largely applies to soft pretzels. They are popular enough all over Germany for them to be sold in virtually every

Most ovens, including mine, have a child lock function, but at least on mine it does not engage the physical door lock (ie. you can still open the oven door), it just locks out the controls.

I'd love to do that. It's also too bad that you can't manually engage the lock as a safety feature.

No, even when the bus manages to be on time, it's still miserable compared to light rail or the subway. Jerky, bumpy, loud; more cumbersome entry and exit; less room, not that there's much room on either if they're crowded.

I guess leaving the water in the tub is an easy way to reclaim the heat, but is there any place where the same is done to shower water (or all waste water) on a large scale? Maybe arctic research stations?

Setting up an RSS reader was the best thing that happened to my browsing habits in years. Can't recommend it enough. Constant refreshing of half a dozen sites was replaced by occassionally looking into one program. Literally all the si

I've had raids employ artillery and air drops against my walled compounds. Not sure if it's the computer adapting to my build, it's possible that it's just a late (or mid) game raid variation.

The cool thing is that async-profiler is lightweight enough to run it in production, even against a server that's already under heavy load (in my experience, ymmv). Oh and it's free. We have a cron job running it three times a day

Try looking at it with async-profiler. This can be done in production. I discovered performance problems in unexpected (and some expected) places with it in the past. It may be more helpful if it's your application code that's to

I also get file://hostname/path urls, but opening them works fine. xdg-open 1.1.3 Ctrl-clicking opens the link, but is anything supposed to happen when I click on the link (in Gnome Terminal). I thought it might copy the li

My feet get hot in my GTX boots, but they also get hot in almost everything else when I'm walking for hours on end. Overall, the boots are not the worst experience, and I can pretty comfortably wear them all day for a week, maybe becau

What about rain shedding off your jacket onto your pants? This has totally been an issue for me and in inclement weather I wear (non breathable) rain pants (apparently the right word is bibs). Then again you only say to put on a t-shirt and

It's not like it's my cousin's band, it's The Orb. They were even in the charts that one time. But I'll be sure to include a Willie Nelson reference for you at some point in the future.
